Efficient and Reliable Tool for Woodworking Projects
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I've been using this tool consistently for 5 days a week without any problems. It has been a great investment for me as it helps me save money and performs exactly as expected. Setting it up is a breeze, and the cutting quality is on par with larger shop tools I've used before. Despite its power, it is lightweight and easy to maneuver around the workspace. While I wouldn't recommend it for cutting steel, it provides just the right amount of power for wood projects. I've even tried it on ABS material with successful results.

Outstanding value
My other router is very old and although it works like new, it is not compatible with nearly anything these days in the way of accessories. I really wanted a router table for so many reasons. I almost bought a combo that was over twice the price and I am really glad I found this first. The assembly was very easy even for a router table novice like me. The manuals are clearly written and were easy to follow. I had watched a review video where the person was really impressed in the ability/quality versus price. I paid attention to the items he pointed out to see if I saw the same on my router/table combo. I feel he was very honest in his statements. He did state the fence was not very strong and he didn't recommend for jointing. Perhaps they updated the fence since his was released, but the one that came with mine seems very sturdy. Two items I am very glad this combo boasts is above table height adjustment and it comes with a starting pin. I really didn't see much mention of the pin when reading the description. I only was interested to see if it was included after watching some videos to help me get the most out of my new tool. It appears having a starting pin in a router table is a wanted feature. Skil should make more mention of it if even just a sentence.I really like the router as well. The video mentioned it has a slow startup which is another item that is desired in the router community. The manual quickly walked me through getting it all set up. Attaching it to the mounting plate was really easy as was attaching the mounting plate to the table. I will be honest, the router is most likely in its permanent home. As my older router is still very versatile and came with a good assortment of accessories to include a plunger. I just can't use any of the more modern attachments so this router may get the occasional reprieve. The fence does have a vacuum hookup point. Thanks to keeping the hose from my first shop vac that was much smaller than my current one, I can join the hose from old and new and it adapts to the port perfectly. I made a few test cuts tonight and most all of the chips were whisked away to leave a nearly spotless work top.I will admit that some of the pieces are not high grade. The video I watched did point this out. My take on it is that this set is a value set (for lack of a better term) and you cannot expect solid gold fittings milled to within a millionth of an inch for the price point this unit is. Believe me, I am not complaining. This set is for hobby only so I am not needing professional grade. Honestly, I have seen similar comments about included items on much pricier router/table combos. I am grateful Skil included so much for such a great price. This will suit my needs and then some. One item that Skil could fix somewhat easily is the fact that when the router is in the table and you need to remove it, you have to lift up the table to get enough clearance to remove the router for bit changes. As I am going to build a custom stand for this unit, I will recess the center to make it easier to remove and replace the router motor.I really like the storage on the sides. They are just cubbies, but I will take that over the space being wasted and not utilized at all.The test passes I made tonight turned out great. Thanks to actually researching I learned the bit I have in the router needed a slower speed due to its width. Again the included manuals really helped a novice out. The router worked great and did not sound like it was strained in the slightest. As the router has lights on it for hand use, they do also light up here. I am not sure how useful that will be, but at minimum it does light up the workspace in the most important area, the finger eliminator. In my opinion, I feel this is an excellent value with very good quality. I would say expect to get what you pay for however I think you get you get far more than what the price tag implies you will get in quality and included items.

Excellent Value, Very Good Tool
I'm impressed by the overall quality of this combo given the price. The storage on each side is handy and includes a spot to hang the collet wrench as well as shelves with 1/2" and 1/4" holes for bits. They do receive a good bit of sawdust. The plastic fence isn't quite straight but the built in vacuum port works well despite being subject to some clogging. I also appreciate being able to switch on/off both my vacuum and router at the same time given the two switched outlets. I find the table to be very steady while clamped to a small workbench.I really like the router. It has good power. There are LED lights so you can see your work in real time and plastic shields to protect eyes if using it upright or to guarantee complete dust collection if table mounted. The included base accepts Porter-Cable bushings. I wish there were a snap lock for changing bits instead of the spring-loaded button. The button forces you to use a hand just to engage the lock. Still, bits aren't that hard to change. The router also allows for precise micro height adjustments while mounted to the table.

Does what it needs to do and does it well.
Use it 5 days a week with no issues. I love it. Save money, does what it's supposed to. Easy symbol and set up and the cut quality is just as accurate as anything else I've ever used at a big shop. light weight and easy to move around the job. As long as you not cutting steel it has just the right amount of power to get the job done for your wood projects I've used it on some ABS with no issues too.

Good router set yp
Great bang for the buck. I bought this to build shaker doors forMy kitchen (44 in all) and figured with the money I saved in labor by DIYing it it would be handy. CORRECT I was! Great tools, router startes up slow and is plenty powerful for my needs. I’m not a pro woodworker

Nice Router and options for the price
I had a slight misunderstanding where to hook up the vacuum hose and originally thought it was suppose to hook up to the router vacuum port directly but instead realized it is suppose to hook up to the vacuum port located on the fence. I just used it for the first time to route out some aluminum bar and so far everything works pretty good. I like the router with the soft start, above table router adjustment, and the competitive price. I was going to place the router on my work bench but settled for placing it on a rolling cart which worked out great. Update: the fence is a little out of line and one side is off center from the the other side which causes the product being routed to jump inward when transitioning from the right side of the fence to left side of fence. To remedy this I used a thick metal ruler between the fence and the item that I am routing.

Excellent machine at very reasonable price.
For a combo tool that probably costs less than one of the components it’s a great deal. It works very well and is very sturdy and accurate.I mostly use it for edge molding and jointing rough boards. It works great for both. The fence is a little shaky for jointing so I made a wood fence or use a bit with a guide and aluminum strip.Good product for a reasonable cost!
