Dorman 13778 Keyless Entry Remote

I’m cheap and didn’t want to pay the extra for the obdii adapter, but after getting no where with other aftermarket remote, thought I would give it a try…. Worked perfectly, and was real easy even for me. Read the instructions and follow them closely and all works.1 caveats they tell you to check fitment on back of package on the Dorman website.. I saw this after I purchased and it was delivered… I was lucky I got the right one, but do this before ordering to make sure you are ordering the correct one.

I literally had the fobs programmed in just a few minutes. It was so simple. My daughter bought a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The fobs weren't working and when she unlocked the door with the key, the panic alarm would go off. I called our local locksmith, who is mobile, and was told it would be $100 just to come out. Plus $20 if he had the code, $50 if he didn't have the code and at least $50 if the fob was was bad and needed replacing. The dealership was going to be at least that or more. I tried all of the hacks I found online and none worked. So, I ordered this product with hopes it would work, but honestly expected it not to. It worked like a charm. I followed the simple instructions and in probably 2 minutes had the 2 old fobs and the one that came in the package programed with no issues.

Took 30 seconds to program. Saved me time and money going to the dealership. Thanks!

this device does not work on uk model WJ grand Cherokees so stay clear of this device its a lot of money down the drain.

I had two original remotes that came with the car when I purchased it, 14 or so years ago. Recently I lost one set of keys and then, wouldn't you know, the second remote quit working. On top of that, someone had once tried to break into my car, so I couldn't just use the key in the lock. I was leaving the car unlocked until I realized that a double click on the liftgate lock would unlock the doors. Still it was inconvenient especially since the liftgate would also pop, requiring me to open and close the gate. I purchased extra remotes. I tried resetting the remotes using the manual, but you need one working remote to make it work. I tried going to a garage, but apparently you can only go to Chrysler. I went to Chrysler and paid them to tell me it didn't work and that I would have to pay for more work to replace something inside the car. Really??? So after a few weeks of living without the remote, I ordered this. Worked perfectly! The old remote (and the remotes I purchased in the process) would not program. But the remote that came with this tool works and was easy to set using the tool that comes with it to program it (that allegedly only Chrysler can do)! At least I have one remote back. Hoping to get at least one more, but so very very very happy that I got it to work finally using this package. It didn't take very long either.
