One of the best from Mugglenet!
This is the fourth in the Mugglenet series of books on Harry Potter and I think it's up there with their best. I really enjoyed the first three, with the Character Compendium probably being my favourite so far, but this one definitely comes in at second place for me. I have honestly found them all to be very good though. There is a a lot of information in this book, which, for the record, is really nicely presented and laid out. I think it's definitely one of the most dense in the series. That said, a lot of the information comes from the standard books, so you will probably already know much of it. I personally thought the best information was the more obscure, the sections on things like the Book of Admittance and Quill of Acceptance, or the origins of the Hogwarts Express, for example, were all really interesting. This continues the tradition of compiling a vast well of Potter knowledge from all the official sources into a single book, which is excellent for any Potter fan to either read through cover to cover, or just pick at sections bit by bit. I find them really useful and love picking them up when I re-read the books and find myself asking questions about how something works, or who someone is. In the absence of any official release of Hogwarts: A History, this is absolutely the next best thing and fills the gap perfectly well. Any fan of Harry Potter would love it. Although I'd hazard a guess that much of the Mugglenet demographic are adult fans, this book is accessible to younger readers and if you can get through the Philosophers Stone, you will be fine reading this too.
