This item is fake
Was really looking forward to this knife. The Wusthof logo is a sticker and the rest of the markings differ from the actual Wusthof website. The dimples on the blade are also shaped differently (this one has small ovals that sit above the edge while the real one's extend all the way down.

I was so thrilled to get my new beautiful knife today
I was so thrilled to get my new beautiful knife today! I rushed to open the package to to find a little cardboard sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. I did not give that too much thought. I admired its beautiful form and how ridiculously sharp it is. Wow! Then I looked at it again...something just felt off. I looked over the paper sleeve and it just looked a little wrong...I turned it over to find that the website listed is wuesthof.com....I'm not sure if that is the same as Wusthof.com or not. The blade has completely different markings than the Wusthof website and even the advertisement for the product. The sticker on the handle also looks just a little 'off'as well. I will be returning mine and going into a local brick and mortar store (eek!) to ensure I get the quality I expect when buying this caliber of kitchen implement. I love shopping on Amazon, but this time it just feels a little sketchy. I cannot be sure that this is an authentic product. Just because it is sharp today does not make me naive enough to believe it will last like a true Wusthof should.

There Is No Other Name In Chef Knives Than Wustoff
BEST knife I have every owned bar none! For years I always had those really cheap knife sets that you can buy from places like Fingerhut, JC Pennys and Kmart but I finally caved in and decided In wanted a kick-butt chef's knife and opted for Wustoff's 7" over their 8" version. Why? Price. It was something like forty dollars different between the two and really what is 1" of blade?Because this 7" has handled everything I needed it to do and it's a pleasure to hold and cut with. Of course I watched several different chefs on YouTube discuss and demonstrate proper technique and etiquette for using a chef's knife so that I wouldn't cut my fingers off. Trust me, you should too because this blade is sharp - I mean battle sharp. I would take it into battle against an armored knight, it's that sharp. My former chef's knife was a Chicago Cutlery and there is no comparison - Wustoff blows it off the map.I also bought the Wustoff knife sharpener as well and it does a splendid job of keeping the blade sharp. My kids have had a discussion over who wants it when dad passes on it's that good of a knife. So treat yourself to a GOOD chef's knife and try this one. You'll thank yourself for doing so. I promise. :)

I went to a 3000 and then polished on an 8000 and this knife is amazing again and inspires me to cook and prep everyday ...
I've been working in professional kitchens for 17 years. Until the last few years I have been really getting into knives and sharpening on whetstones. This knife came sharp. I use this knife for about 5 hours of straight prepping. Fileting fish, cutting carrots and potatoes, julienne basil and swiss chard. This knife can take anything you throw at it. At a 10 degree angle it doesn't cut through harder produce as well as my French knife but it does the job. But for chopping, juliennes, slicing this is the knife. And yes it can cut through an overripe heirloom tomato without holding it.I bought the 8 inch, I just put a new bevel on at 800 grit after hours and hours of use. I went to a 3000 and then polished on an 8000 and this knife is amazing again and inspires me to cook and prep everyday in my professional kitchen. I took the sticker off the first second I got it, it's cheap and looks cheap, plus people were complaining that it stained the handle. Great knife to any knife roll!

My Knife Collection is now complete
Nice knife, 5" size is actually good for more uses than the 7". Its German craftsmanship as expected. The Handle has a red sticker on it, Its not an embedded inlay, one millennial reviewer dinged this for the sticker wearing away. Other reviews mention sharp edges on top, not mine! NEWS FLASH ...All knives get dull with constant use, learn how to sharpen a knife & this will keep you happy for 50 years.

Sharp!!!
It's a Wusthof Santoku, need I say more? This is the second one of these we have added to our knife selection, and for good reason. The Santoku style is very useful and versatile, and we love the way these knives feel in our hands. They arrive razor sharp, so be careful. One slip and you will be carving a chunk out of yourself. We've had our collection of Wusthof knives for 2 decades and they are still going strong.Would definitely recommend.

Seems like a very well made kitchen knife.
I have a bunch of Henckel knives and have been happy with them over the 10 years or so that I have had them. I sharpen them twice a year and have been pretty my satisfied. But I have to say, this Wusthof is one sharp blade. Overall build quality is similar to my Henckel's too.I can't get over how sharp this knife is though. I can only hope that it keeps its edge over time. Kind of pricey, but would buy again.

Good Knife
We have had a set of Classic knives for about ten to fifteen years. Surprising to me, I find that the Santoku knife is my go to blade for many applications. It sharpens to a near razor edge on a steel rifle. Would recommend to any cook. We wish we had our set at the start of our marriage. You don’t realize the benefits of good cutlery until you own some. Would make a great wedding gift.

Too pricey
Not as good as the price for it which is too high for every day kitchen knife.

A Proper Cooks Knife
At last, a knife that claims to be sharp and it truly is very very sharp! I feel safer using the oriental style as it doesn't have the pointed tip. This knife is robust enough to slice through tough vegetables such as celeriac and swedes which can be very difficult to prepare. It seems expensive, but I know that this is going to last me for years to come.

Wusthof Classic 17cm Oriental Cooks Knife
I have had this knife a few months now and I love it, it is a great size, not too heavy and is very Versatile, I use it for cutting/chopping everything! (except bread) It has stayed sharp and the hollow edge helps stop things sticking to it when cutting. It is very expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. I also have Wüsthof CLASSIC Cook's knife - 4572 / 20 cm this knife is a little heavier but is also a great all-rounder. Wüsthof CLASSIC Cook's knife - 4572 / 20 cm

Great knife
When I first got the knife after going on research and reviews I thought I'd made a mistake as I wasnt keen on the rigid feel and manoverability. After a small break in period I love it! Clean thin slices and quickly! Would reccomend
