The Mahl Stick is an often overlooked yet highly useful tool for painters and signwriters. Mahl sticks (also known as painters sticks or painters rests) provides stable support for your hand or wrist when painting on a large scale or with slow drying mediums such as oils. By resting the leather cork end of the stick on the edge of the canvas or on a part already dry, you can then rest your working hand on the stick while moving the stick with your non-dominant hand as needed.This not only prevents smudging your work but it can assist in creating a steadier brush stroke.This mahl stick unscrews into two parts to be collapse or extend as required.
