“I was making email marketing way too hard before this”
Super short and fast read.Loved this because this book is essentially a “must have” for any marketer. Its like the core OS because it teaches 1 simple idea that makes writing emails easy. And then the rest of the book is examples you can copy. Its that simple.Ive written emails for 13 years and frankly felt kinda dumb at how hard i was making this for myself.A++ book from an even better human. Matt was one of my early mentors who became a real friend. Love this guy and this book.

No Matter Who You Are, This Book Isn't For You
From this short, 51-page book, I expected a series of legendary emails written by various "gurus" and an explanation of why those emails were so successful. I mean, that's what the book title implies. But I was barely halfway through the introduction when I noticed something off. The legal at the beginning says that "results will depend on the nature of the product or business model." You know why? Because the author had the audacity to say, "It's NOT the product, it's NOT where or how you advertise, and it's NOT your price. Nothing else is as important as writing an attention-grabbing, click-getting email." I'm sure this author could write an email and sell a garbage product to some idiot. But will that idiot come back for more? Probably not. Unless he's a bigger idiot than you thought. So ask yourself, are you trying to win customers over or fool them once?It may sound like the author is looking at you and talking to you when you're reading. But by page 2, you'll realize he's not. He's looking through you and talking at you. Because right about there is where the book pulls a bait and switch. "This is no longer about creativity or original thought," he says. No, just stay with me for the next thirty seconds and "your email will practically write itself." What? From there, it loses me by talking about funnels and sales pages. I'm a copywriter at an ad agency, not a business owner. I don't know what the hell a VSL is, but I do know how abundantly clear it became that this book was written with one person in mind: the author. He writes under the assumption that you're already familiar with his frame of mind and lingo and never stops to ask if you're even following.Don't buy this garbage.

It's short but...
I appreciate the "get straight to the point" of why you bought the book. You don't need all of that annoying filler. My issue with the book is that the emails are almost all geared towards the internet marketing/make money niches. I would have liked to have seen more examples of other niche emails, like ecom.

Good basic intro for affiliate marketers
The biggest issue I have with this slim volume is that it is written expressly for affiliate marketers, who are presenting someone else's offer to their own list. It's okay advice for absolute beginners, but not of much value to experienced email marketers with proprietary offers.
