I love the brand
Hunter makes stylish quality fans that are reasonably priced. I bought two table models in 2015 and they were on at least 12 hours a day everyday in the spring, summer and fall. One finally went out about six months ago (2023). The other one is still going strong. I decided to replace the table model with this floor model. Immediately, I noticed that there was some difference in the quality of the metal. It is not quite as sturdy as the ones purchased in 2015, but the quality was better than what you will find with most fan manufacturers.I decided to re-buy this brand because the other ones lasted so long, and they were A+ quality. I found them to be quite attractive, with a modern retro look that I really appreciate in the age where everything is so high tech. I think it blends in with my decor, and is not an eye sore. I was looking for a quality product that would blend in with my furnishing and not stand out in a bad kind of way. Hunter checked all of the boxes for me.The two older floor models came already assembled, and I assumed that this would be at least partially assembled, if not fully assembled. This fan had to be completely assembled. I am generally good at assembling furniture and lamps. I read the instructions, and there was an error in the instructions I received. The instructions said to loosen the ring from the front of the fan and attach it to the center of the front and back grill. The front of the fan did not have a ring on it. I was thought I was missing an important part and could not proceed with the assembly. The manual said that their customer service was available 24 hours a day. So, I called their 800 number and I got an answering service who knew nothing about the product. She let me tell my story, only to inform me that she could not help me. She told me to take pictures of the item, and email it to the company. I took detailed pictures of the fan, as instructed and quoted the exact page from the manual that said to loosen the ring from the front grill, and attach it to the front and back grill, explaining that there was not a ring on the front of the fan. I also emailed a copy of my receipt from Amazon as proof that I had purchased this item. I waited and waited and waited, and the company never contacted me to follow-up. I waited 2 and half months for a response that never came. I was so frustrated with Hunter that I wished I had just returned it to Amazon. After 2 1/2 months, I started fidgeting with it. I had noticed there was a ring on the back grill, but I thought that there were supposed to be two, and that I was only removing the ring from the front because that is what the instructions said. At this point, I was outside of my return window at Amazon, and it was pretty clear the manufacturer had no intention of ever responding to me. So, I started to try and assemble the fan. I removed the ring from the back and tried attaching it to the front and back grill. The ring would not fit flush around the two no matter what I did. I kept trying to center it around the front and back grill, and it would slide or just not meet at the bottom of the grill. After 20 or so tries, I decided to flip the ring around, and I was able to center it around the two grills and get it to meet at the bottom. I spent a couple of hours of trying to get the ring to meet at the bottom before just I decided to turn the ring around.I am not sure if the manual was wrong, or if someone accidentally placed the front ring on the back grill instead of the front. Also, there is no way to tell that there is a right side to the ring. It looks the same on both sides, but it will not meet at the bottom if you are trying to attach it from the wrong side. After I figured it out, I was even more annoyed the company did not respond to my email. They could have clarified that even though their own manual said the ring was attached to the front, it was actually on the back. They had my photos. I thought there were supposed to be two rings, that met in the middle. After I figured it out, I was happy with the end product. They almost lost a customer based on their non-existent customer service. This experience left me with a negative impression of Hunter as a corporation. I could not imagine selling a product, offering a 24 hour answering service, only to never respond to one of your customers who is having problems assembling their product, or believes they are missing a crucial part. The rest of the assembly was easy peasy, and was fast and painless. I definitely noticed a difference in the quality of metal from the earlier version; the quality of the steel is not as high end as the 2015 purchase. But, it is still a high quality product. I still give the fan five stars. I give Hunter's customer care zero stars. They have the worst customer service. Completely ignoring a customer having difficulty assembling their product is not an acceptable way to do business.

Go With This Hunter Fan-You Won't Regret It
My older floor fan kicked the bucket so I was in the market for a new one. I particularly like this stainless fan, because it is stylish and it is a Hunter. I have never been disappointed with any Hunter fan purchases in the past. You can choose to oscillate or not and it provides great white noise and air circulation in the bedroom.

For a Great Nights Sleep, Yes
Our old metal fan of nearly 15 years finally gave up & we needed an affordable replacement. We have a hard time sleeping without that perfect combination of cool air movement & white noise. Yes, we are one of those couples that run a fan in our room, well, always. This fan is just that, metal, quality, that perfect level of white noise & we’re sleeping comfortably again. Very nice & affordable. I definitely recommend.

Not reliable
I purchased this beautiful fan and at the one year mark it stopped working. I called the manufacturer which was very helpful customer service. The rep knew exactly what the problem was. The cord to the fan has very small bulb. It went out hence why the fan stopped working. I was told that at the time it stopped that it’s very common to happen. That being said all was good till it came time to purchase the bulb… I went to Home Depot’s, Old school hardware stores and none carried what was needed. I threw the fan out. I purchased a small VORNADO that can sit on my windowsill if needed be and get crisp cool air! For $11 bucks.I don’t regret the purchase of the fan. It was beautiful however send additional bulbs because they are extremely hard to find. I searched extensively and still could not find them.I hope this helps.

Loud but beautiful
It was important that I find a quiet fan so that it could cool me at night silently. Unfortunately on the lowest setting it is loud. On the other settings it is extremely loud. If you are looking for a quiet fan this is definitely not for you. The cord is extremely short. Aside from those two things it is all metal and beautiful. It's so solid that it's heavy. This fan is powerful. On the lowest setting it puts out a great amount of air. I can see that it will ne easy to clean. I bought this fan to replace my ceiling fan, and put a chandelier in its place. So the out come would be a chandelier on the ceiling and a pedestal fan.

Love this fan. Looks nice, helps me sleep
We needed a new fan to keep on while we sleep. Need the noise. Now it’s not as noisy as our box fan, but it gives more noise than the newer models of fans that are all so quiet. Great if you only want the cooling effect.Looks really classic too.

Could not be happier
The media could not be loaded. I ordered a cheaper stand fan that did not look as good and the build quality was poor. I spent a little more to get the Hunter as I have always trusted the brand. I am glad I did. The fan went together in minutes and the hardware quality is good. The oiled bronze looks great, matches my door hardware, and is much less noticeable in the room. It also puts out more air that I expected. I love having it on a stand as I can adjust it to the right height for unobstructed air flow across my bed.I sleep with a cage style fan for air movement and for the white noise as I have tinnitus. Fans I have used in the past had to run on high to get enough air and to produce the sound I like. Not this Hunter. Running this fan on medium is perfect!

Beautiful fan just not long lasting
I love the look of this fan and it perfectly matches my decor - but I hate the fact that no matter how little I use it, it fails after 2 or 3 years. I even stored it with a dust cover last year and when I brought it out for use this summer it wouldn't power on. For a fan to cost $90 - $190, I would expect more than 7 months (3.5 months during the summer every 2 years) of usage. The first time I bought one nearly 20 years ago (different manufacturer and they no longer make it), it lasted more than 6 years and was used nightly because my husband was a 'hot sleeper.'

Hurricaine in the house
This item is a excellent quality goodlooking quiet fan . The balancement of the empellers is 100% . Assembly was extremely easy following the instructions . Nice to have a very slight metal smell , than a plastic smell . Low pushes out to aleast 30 ft . I havent needed to switch to a higher setting . And acually ive turned it off because i am cold even on 33° C days . This fan blows stronger at low , than my 1100 $ bladeless fan that is set on max .

Loud rumbly fan that points down is not worth the money and time.
The fan looks okay, but it is loud even on the lowest setting, and rumbles enough that it can be felt through the floor when standing close. It took a while to put together, several steps but not that difficult with the instructions.Once together, the fan is tilted slightly down - see image. It's just a few degrees, but that means that it points down into the room and it can't be adjusted to point straight or up.The chord is about 5-6 feet long, but that means if the fan is set to be tall and the chord run down the pedestal, there's only about 3 feet of chord to get to the wall socket, so placement is limited unless you are okay with a chord up off the floor.I am returning this, though not looking forward to taking it apart to ship.I figured the negative reviews were exaggerating, but nope.I think this is the first thing I've retuned on Amazon. I'll usually live with something that's just not great and find a home for it, but there's nowhere I can put this where it's not going to be too loud and awkward to place.
