These floating shelves arrived exactly as depicted. One of the key selling points for me were the sturdy metal brackets that were included. I appreciate knowing that these shelves will be well secured. The shelves are a solid piece of wood that each weigh a couple of pounds. With other similar floating shelves on the market I've noted not all come equipped with sturdy mounting brackets. A quick note, screws and anchors are not included with these shelves. Depending on where the shelves are installed different types of screws and anchors will be needed. No biggie in my opinion. A quick trip to the hardware store to get the proper screws and anchors is not a big deal.When my husband saw these shelves he commented that he could have made these shelves for a fraction of the price. True, as they are constructed of simple pieces of stained wood with holes drilled in the back. However, he's not factoring in time and convenience. If one has all the time in the world and the proper tools then yes, by all means make 'em yourself for much cheaper. For these floating shelves we could have made ourselves, I opted to bite the bullet with purchasing them to save us time and grief. Let's face it, most DIY projects one does at home for the first time is not always as straight forwarded as it may seem.Another buyer noted in his/her review that you can go directly to the manufacturer's website to purchase these shelves for much cheaper. True, BUT it does not include free shipping. Their shipping fee is astronomical so in my humble opinion, Amazon had the best deal.

I am seldom disappointed with products I order on Amazon. I had given it a lot of though and finally decided to purchase these shelves for my kitchen; I should have listened to the bad reviews. Its really a hit and miss with these. First, I ordered the walnut, but what I received looks like DARK walnut. I based this decision on the pictures provided and they are definitely dark (see pics). Second, the quality. Oh boy, like another reviewer said, SHODDY work. The pictures speak for themselves, I even had a little loose piece come off and the stain/paint job is sloppy. There is even noticeable cracks that I don't think I can hide, no matter which way I position them. Third, The hardware metal. What I received must have been in their warehouse/place for a while now. It is not rusted, but it looks extremely used. It even feels rough. I'm so annoyed at the thought of having to return them, paid for shipping too. I'll have to give it some thought and see what I can do. If I do end up putting them up, I just hope it doesn't end up destroying my walls. This company needs to take note of what Amazon considers quality (shipped from company)Will update if I decided to use or return.

I love these shelves! I put them above the toilet in our main bathroom and they give the space such a nice feel/look! Everything arrived as described. I may purchase more for other areas in our house.

I would give NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could!!! Was so excited to find a pair of floating shelves for half the cost of others online. How naive of me! Looks very cheap, but my biggest beef is with the hardware. The shelves are not flush against the wall because there's no notch in the back for the mounting brackets! AND the shelves tilt forward. Will have to patch my walls and toss these shelves where they belong - THE GARBAGE. Shame on these people for blatantly ripping others off!

These are no more than 2x6s with uneven holes drilled in the back for the brackets. There were no notchs for the bracket on the back of the shelf. I had to go and buy a $30 chizzel kit and use it to notch out areas for the bracket so the shelf would sit flush against the wall. The thing that made me the most upset was that the holes in the shelf for the brackets are not spaced eveninly, which made mounting the shelves a lengthy process. In all, an extra $30 and 2 plus hours of work made the original $50 a rip off. I could have easily made these myself for much less.

I liked the shelves itself - it is very soft and looks nice. But it is absolutely useless with default brackets! Everything you put on the shelf will slide down with the shelf itself! Unfortunately, we didn't know that before installation. So now I have to spend some extra time and money ordering other brackets that hopefully will fix the situation. I had a very specific requirement for these shelves, so I'm going to figure out how to install it properly. In another case, I would just send it back immediately.

First off, let me start off by saying how amazing this company was! From the moment the items ship they are emailing you making sure that you are happy with your product and everything was shipped okay. I had an issue with a shelf I had received and they were so kind and considerate. They quickly sent out a replacement. The brackets that they supply made hanging them soo easy!! I priced what it would cost to make these myself with using the same or similar brackets (because they were so easy to hang perfect) and they were around the same price, not including my labor or the cost of tools and lack of knowledge. They hang perfectly in my kitchen and hold jars full of snacks, coffee and tea perfectly. The oak color is exactly what is pictured and I had no issue with stain rubbing off. I searched all over for shelves like this, with the same thickness and width and couldn't find the perfect fit, until I came across these. I was hesitant because of the reviews, but I would recommend this company and this item! The customer service I received was wonderful. They stayed in contact with me to make sure that I was happy and satisfied with my purchase. I would order from them again!
