Single dial provides wide range adjustable intensity from simple overdrive to destructive crushingdistortion. Retains clarity in maxed out dial setting. Sounds like a Model T amp? Cant imagine the Model T reaching these levels in maxed setting. This pedal will drive just about any amp and speakers to damaging clipping, great for solid state amplifiers and small combo amps you may wish to destroy. May be comparable to HM-2 type pedals without tone adjustment controls.Considering the simplicity of the circuit, it could be a bit less expensive. Although that may be the case with most guitar pedals. Packed in a nice cloth bag with catalog and sticker, however no rubber feet. Some of us intelligently prefer NOT install with fur laden sticky Velcro. Paint and graphics include defects like dirt and ticks but overall o.k.

One knob can be so versatile, it's insane. Well, 2 knobs if you count your guitar volume knob. Most of these people giving low reviews have no idea that hi-gain will cause feedback/hum/noise. If you want quiet with distortion/fuzz, use a guitar with humbuckers or get a noise gate. It's simple and doesn't take rocket scientist to know. I don't use a noise gate since I just use my guitar volume knob. This pedal is like a distortion meets fuzz with the perfect tone balance. Everything can be controlled on your guitar, which is great. I will crank this pedal between 9 - noon and just use my guitar volume for rhythm/lead. Seriously, this pedal is an always-on pedal and a main stay on my board. A lot of fuzz type pedals won't cut through a mix very well but this one does. There is one thing that I do wish it did "better" though and thats the volume sweep. It goes from off to crazy loud with a quarter turn, but it doesn't bother me since I crank it anyway. You want this pedal for cranking, otherwise, get a tube screamer or something...

I rolled the dice with this one, and tried to make it work as my primary dirt pedal. You can certainly set your guitar volume way down to reel in the distortion, but it will still leave you with quite a bit of noise. Ultimately I returned it in favor of a Boss/JHS Angry Driver, which is far more versatile. HOWEVER I look forward to buying this pedal again as the sound it creates is unlike anything else I've heard. It makes you feel like a dang superhero and begs to be thrashed, chugged and droned out. My god it is beautiful. Maybe it's time to resurrect Sunn amps again?

Excellent Sunn Model T approximator. Lovely harmonics. Despite its extreme distortion, it stacks well with other pedals of its ilk. Recommended!

If you like harsh distortion, this thing isn't going to disappoint. Because you control this largely by adjusting the volume on your guitar you might enjoy putting this after another gain boosting pedal, also an EQ pedal before it gives you nice control over the tone of the resulting noise. Very pleased with this unit, super cool with synthesizers as well but you've gotta be careful with the output volume as it will obliterate you.

It is a one knob , one trick pony. If your looking for a Crunchy Fuzzy thick distorted sound. This is a good one. If you need a crappy weak tube screamer type OD look somewhere else. If you do doomy heavy stuff and like noise , this is fun.

If you are looking at purchasing this pedal you probably already know the score. Big volume knob. Sounds like an amp cranked up to the point of exploding. It's noisey. It's fuzzy. (Fairly high noise floor) Tightens up a bit with a TS in front. I have it in an parallel loop with a,RAT.Drop C and you can summon Satan. Fun! 😃👍
