Out of the box quality
I wanted to pick up a new hobby and decided on RC’s. After reading reviews and watching many videos, as a novice I purchased a Deerc 9201e. Great entry level vehicle and I havnt had any issues with it. The only thing I changed was the oil weight in the shocks, runs well. For my second car I wanted a desert buggy type Rc and after reading reviews on Amazon and YouTube I bought this awesome Haiboxing 2995. Out of the box even my untrained eye could see the quality and attention to detail. It’s heavy for a 1:12 scale and as large as the 9201e that’s advertised as a 1:10 scale. I connected a fully charged battery I had on hand and took it for a spin. Awesome buggy, easy to control and very responsive. I’m researching some upgrades, like a brushless motor, but for now the stock motor will do just fine!! Thank you Haiboxing for a solid product.

Awesome RC, great base for modding!
This HBX is the perfect size for where I live and what I like to do. Gets around awesome on most terrains, and is very customizable.I must say that, in stock form, it feels slow if you’re used to brushless rigs. But it’s perfect for starting out or for younger crowds. It’s also perfect for upgrading to your own brushless system, as the driveline already has all the upgrades necessary to handle brushless power. The front, center and rear differentials, in particular, are very stout, work great, and can really take a beating. Also, the seller is fantastic, and Haiboxing really stands behind their products and goes above and beyond to help and make things right!I will say the only drawback to this platform is the center drive shaft - it doesn’t use pins, but is hex shaped and is mated to drive pinions via a hex slot. Eventually the hex shaft wears down and rounds out, and you get slippage. It takes a long time though. A pinned center shaft would solve this - something HBX should look into. If you are creative you can also solve this on your own, or just buy a new one now and then. This is a relatively minor gripe. One other slight drawback is the lack of aftermarket parts support from third parties. Would be nice if some parts suppliers jumped in with HBX.The HBX 2996a is the same platform (not currently available on Amazon) and is currently my favorite RC (and I have many that retail for 500 or more). Buy this without hesitation, it’s awesome!

Best $140 purchase ever.
I have been away from the R/C hobby for quite a while. I am absolutely astonished at the speed, agility and durability of this little truggy. I wanted something better than toy quality and this absolutely rocks for the money. I didn’t care for the graphics so I used the Oberto scheme from an unlimited hydro kit. I truly couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase.

Very fast and very fun
This a very nice remote car. Midsize car is just big enough to play in the desert without getting stuck on rocks and costs about half the price of the larger cars. Spare parts for this mid-size car is more limited that for the larger cars but if you don't run this car so often and don't abuse it too much then the spare parts won't be needed and you save a lot of money. Nice compromise of utility and cost. These cars are extremely fast (others with smaller and larger cars are surprised at the speed) and very fun to drive. Get about 15-20 minutes of run time on one battery. I purchased a third, slightly larger, lipo battery and can get a full hour of fun out of the three batteries.

Nice car for beginners
The car is loaded with features and drives well.1. It can take a lot of beating. The materials are little flexible, which prevents them from breaking.2. Handles very well and easy to tune.3. Well built like a real RC car, with metal gearing, 3 differentials, servo, etc.4. Comes with deans connectors, two batteries and two chargers.5. Parts are available.6. Large and looks cool.On the negative side:1. The car is not very fast. It does not have enough speed to get air, at least not more than a couple of inches2. No space for a larger battery like you can upgrade on other cars.3. Receiver and power controller are integrated, so upgrades (like using your own remote) is more involved than normal.4. Lights in the outside body are a pain, since the shell is connected to the car with short wires. Fortunately you can unplug the lights from the receiver. Do this the moment you open the box.5. Shocks have no damping. I think they need an oil fill. It's not much of an issue because the car is not very fast. If you upgrade it to go faster it will be too unstable. To sum it up, an ideal beginner car. I read that you can increase the power by using 3S battery, but this is difficult since there is no space. It's hard to find a 3S battery with enough capacity that fits.
