Absolute buy
I love notebooks and use them at work often. The paper and design of these books are premium. Even the bright red color has a vibrant pop! Solid product, fav notebook by far.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:love the color, how thin the paper is, and the overall build of these journals.

I spilled a whole cup of water on it and you’d never know
It’s a great notebook. At first I was worried about the ghosting but actually that doesn’t bother me at all. You can see through the pages a little bit, but I like that. I spilled a whole cup of water on the notebook as I was writing in it, so I left it open to dry and you can’t even tell it got wet. The pages didn’t seem to soak up the water- thought that was interesting. I love writing in it. Well made, good paper. I use uniball pens and I like they way they feel on it- a little scratchy but I find it satisfying

Pleasantly surprised, but has a few design flaws.
The navy is a beautiful color, so dark that it almost appears black, so keep that in mind when you order. It has an elastic band and two thin ribbons for dividing/marking pages. One of them is a navy blue, and the other one is navy blue/gray vertical stripes, which is a really nice detail, and also would really help when marking pages. When you first open the book you come to a cardstock name/address page, followed by a blank page (which is really nice because this first page would be hard to write on, as first pages are often attached to the cardstock page, which this is), and three table of content pages, with 26 vertical cells per content page. IMMEDIATELY, you notice that you CAN see the printing from the other side of the page, which is REALLY ANNOYING! Ill get to the paper quality later. I also dislike that every printed word is translated into at least two languages, usually being just English and German, which I understand because this is a German company. After that, it has 249 numbered pages with 31 lines per page. The lines are thinner than college rule and printed in a gray color, which looks very nice. Each page also has a Date space at the top, but because the date headers on the two sides of the book aren't symmetrical it looks bad. the book does lay flat which is AWESOME. The back of the book has a sizeable pocket, and a sheet of stickers to help you label the inside and outside of the book so you can archive it when you are done with it. Though, because of the perfectly smooth faux leather outside, I have no idea how well these stickers will stick in the long run. It also has 8 perforated pages at the back of the book, which is convenient for some people, and totally unnecessary for others. Luckily, the perforation is hardly noticeable, so you can also use these as normal pages. For my use: I purchased this with the intent of starting a creative journal. If you are someone who glues or tapes tons of stuff into your journal, this will not work too well for you because there is no extra space in the binding for extra paper bits to be glued or inserted even every few pages. If you are someone who only uses ticket stubs, washi tape, and the occasional sticker/photo, etc, this will be ok because you can remove those last 8 perforated pages to give yourself a bit more room while sacrificing 16 pages (including front and back), and the elastic band is stretchy enough to keep the book shut. But like I said, this is not a journal that you can stuff with papers. If you plan on just writing, this will be great for you if the paper meets your standards. Now for the paper quality, which is my biggest concern with any journal. I hate that it ghosts, even with its own printing, and I dislike that the paper isnt white, but its a soft ivory, which is easier on the eyes than stark white is. As I mentioned earlier, the ruling is thinner than college ruled paper. The paper is very thin and smooth. I was really worried about the ink test because of how thin and transparent it is. With a G2 Gel pen it wrote very smoothly, but because the paper is so thin it took a while to dry and will for sure smudge if you dont wait long enough. It did ghost fairly badly. Now for the real test: a Fountain pen. For this test I used a Cross Century Classic with a medium nib and Cross Violet Ink, which is a very wet ink, in a very wet pen. If this paper was going to bleed, this pen would do it. It wrote very smooth, dried surprisingly fast, had some awesome shading that i've never seen this ink or pen do before, and ghosted LESS than the gel pen! I even went over the same area over and over to pool the ink and try to make it bleed, and it just wouldn't. This may bleed with a very wet calligraphy pen or if you dump ink onto it, but other than that, I am really really surprised that a fountain pen only had a bit of ghosting. This did ghost quite a bit with wetter stamping inks that I tried.

An acquired taste
beautiful color and sturdy feel. not a fan of the grey string attatched but i do like the yellow one. pages are thin so it doesnt work well for heavy mediums like watercolor gouache or alcohol markers. for me this isn't an issue cus i like thin pages and i mostly work with gel pens and pencil. soft feel to it as well. great for being a junk journal/sketchbook and i also love scrapbooking and making the book thick. ive bought a leuchtturm book before and its the ONLY sketchbook i ever finished... the sizing is great as well (unlke the moleskins where those are thinner width wise). definitely an acquired taste though
