This book is perfect for a beginner, no matter what the age. Our granddaughter started taking piano in school, and while I wasn't sure it would be too easy, it can read the music and it's a great starter book.

I am teaching grandchildren to play key board.

All songs are simple fun classic favorites that are one-note and in the key of C (no black notes). Most are one-page. The 2-page songs do not require page-turning. There are easy instructions for newbies on how to read the music and identify the notes on the keyboard. There is no guidance for correct fingering however, so I'd advise using this with help from a competent pianist.

He just started to read for himself, and all of a sudden, it clicked! He could read the words and sing along and he could play the music using the Letter Stickers we put on the keys.

It has the letters above the notes! Excellent for brand new pianists. My son's piano teacher had me send her the link bc she LOVED it that much!

I didn’t realize the letters of the notes would be printed above the notes on all the music throughout the book, so it didn’t reinforce my kids’ music-reading like I’d hoped.
