For $16.99, this set is a great buy. I am primarily using them for models, and minor fixes, but could definitely see them being used for wood working and such. It's hard to find a large set of inexpensive sanding pads that also has anything higher than 4000 grit. I currently have 2 different sets of sanding pads. Honestly I prefer the other set, as they are about twice as thick, and more sponge-like in application. These feel a lot more stiff, which can be handy for some jobs, but an annoyance for others. While I haven't used them for long enough to say for certain, they may become more pliable as they are "broken-in" through use. Take that observation with a grain of salt.Even if they don't become more flexible, I choose to look at it as having a variety of options in my toolset. Some jobs might require spongelike pads, some might need stiffer pads that are better for precision jobs.Overall, I'm pleased with them.

As far as the product goes, these are great. For my exact needs, they work ok, but not the best. I use these when cleaning diecast cars or 1:24 plastic model cars to be painted. I wet sand and the issue I have is that they don't bend easily. I can use them for general purposes but when it comes to the small crevices or smaller areas, I have to use something else.Other than that, they last long, hold their shape and do the job.

I have used these pads wet to polish CA finish on pens and find after 3 pens they are holding up well.

I have and still use a set of the StewMac sanding pads, these are very similar but have a bit more variety, with coarser pads than what comes with the StewMac kit. One thing about these that I do enjoy is they have the grit listed on the pad so I don't have to look memorize what color is what grit with the StewMac pads. I have to say I will probably start using these and get more instead of buying more of the StewMac pads.

Finally we have a lower cost option for sanding our turnings to a brilliant finish.PS.Now that I have used these for a while i have more information.Overall they are pretty good. Improvements can be made to make the substrate softer and the sanding surface could be made more flexible. My experience is that the sanding surface tends to crack and the product is stiff to work with. I have used them wet and dry and they work ok except for the cracking.

These pads are excellent if you are a pen turner very easy to use, simply clean them with clean water as needed. My only complaint is the grade sometimes difficult to make out after a few uses. Hence 4 stars rather than 5

I'm a custom painter and thought I'd try these out. The grit range intrigued me to buy and try them.I used a few other brands of multi stage sanding/polishing pads over the r last 10yrs.The important part of these pads is obviously the performance and how they cut the paint.Strictly from a performer stand point these are great for a one time limited use application such as wet sanding a helmet or a bike frame.These are a one time use item simply because the grit labeling wears off almost immediately which leave the user wondering what grit the pad is.I have no clue which pad is what grit anymore, therefore they are virtually useless for the intended purpose of a graduated wet sanding process.
