Lionel The Polar Express Freight 5.0 Electric O Gauge Train Set with Bluetooth & Remote

No way!! So I ordered my Grandbabe the Lionel Polar Express Ready-to-Play Set this Christmas & he absolutely loved it! We saw that the Lionel O Gauge Scale had more options for purchasing Polar Express additions to curate a collection (the Ready-to-Play tracks aren’t compatible for O-Gage Cars). Loved that The Polar Express Freight Train Set has cars that are entirely different from the Ready-to-Play Set. My Grandbabe is enchanted, it’s a great set. The train cars & track quality did not disappoint here. The details given to each car make it all the more special, for him magical.

Exactly what I thought it would be - the family loves it and the train adds a lot of character to our tree.All the pieces feel very solid and main locomotive is HEAVY! I love that feeling of a heavy well made object. The track assembly was super easy snap together and the train basically works right out of the box.Control is easy and intuitive, sounds are cool and the smoke makes perfect rings! How fun.This was a special treat for our holiday and it delivered.

I wanted this set to work, because I wanted to start a set for our grandson that we could add more pieces later. After reading the reviews, I tried to piece the track together. The very first pieces wouldn’t lock in place fully. After another adult in the family tried to connect the track and had no success, I sent it back. The cars were nice if you have a good track.

I have an American Flyer freight train and passenger train set from when I was a kid. I am a very active 77 year old guy.So after this past Christmas I decided to buy this Polar Express. Well, it works so well and is so much fun I can run it from my easy chair. It is bluetooth from the remote to the engine. Forward, reverse, blows the horn and ring the bell. It converses with the dispatcher.Use Caution..I am having so much fun I bought a full passenger train and engine. Of course I had to buy a lot more track and a bigger transformer.I even went up in the attic and got out my old American Flyer sets. Yup, now I have to spend a smallfortune buying more modern fast track, and another transformer. I am going to buy a new modern engine and use the old cars. I am going to switch old couplers to the new knuckle ones. My old engines will just go one display. My old train is S gage and the Polar Express is O gage. Lionel now sells American Flyer S gage equipment that is new and modern.

This is a great Christmas tree or anytime train set! Features the LionChief remote control system with direction & speed control and buttons for the whistle, bell and crew-tower dialog sounds. The included FasTrack is ideal for temporary set-ups on the living room carpet and is also good for more permanent table-top layouts. The included Caboose features LED internal illumination and the Boxcar & Tank car feature great Polar Express freight colors & graphics. The Engine features everything you expect in a Lionel Steam engine; die-cast metal shell, puffing smoke unit, bright headlight and engine chuff, whistle & bell sounds! Additionally, the set comes with a 40 Watt 18 volt power supply (LionChief engines work on fixed track voltage) and a couple of extras; a Polar Express girder bridge with metal base and 3 Polar Express Billboards with reversable signs. Can't go wrong selecting this set!

This train is great! Perfect for around the tree or given as a gift. It is bluetooth compatible which I didn't even expect. The oval track is a good size. You don't get passenger cars but they can be added. I like the ability and option to be able to expand the set. You get all of the quality you expect from Lionel. 100% recommend!
