Very Cool but...
Just got these and installed them today so I can't comment on durability/reliability but these are dang cool and not at all bad for the money - review subject to change depending on bugs/quality issues.Let me start off with the things I DON'T like:I don't like the connectors provided for the turn signals - They're open to the elements (water) BUT, if you want to put your factory lamps back in, it does make that convenient.I don't like the bare wires for the LED and Halo lights - there should have been sealed weatherpack connectors and terminals for those while giving you choices for power and ground sources. The directions (for a technician) are marginal at best but they do give one with experience the general idea - after that, it depends on your experience with electrical circuits and diagrams as well as your experience with what is... and isn't a 'good connection' - The quick tap/lock connectors provided for the LED/Halo lights are not meant for permanent and dependable connections and WILL fail.I installed them on a 99 Olds Cutlass and chose to tap into the parking lamp circuit for LED/Halo lights because if you tap into the Daytime Running Lights (DRL circuit) they'll be on 100% of the time either with the DRL or low beam headlamps but NOT, high beams so... no cool LEDS or Halos while the high beams are on.(Low beams go dark while the high beams are on)The directions state: "you can tap into the running lights" - and that's it.With the parking lamp circuit, LED/Halos come on automatically with (but independent) of the headlamps but NOT the DRLs so the LEDs/Halos are on at night whether I use low beams or high beams as well as giving me the option to turn them on during the day by simply putting the headlamp switch in the parking lamp position.Just to clarify, on most if not ALL GM vehicles, the DRL and headlamps come on without having to touch the headlamp switch - in the day time by means of a sensor, the DRL lights are on using the low beam headlamp circuit (on this vehicle) and by means of the same sensor, the headlamps/parking lamps come on automatically at dusk or low light conditions like a tunnel - I chose the parking lamp circuit for the LED/Halos to be independent of the headlamp high or low operation and the daytime running lights.I like these a lot - if they're problem free and I don't have to return them, I'll be ordering proper weatherpack connectors/terminals for the turn signals/parking lights/LED/Halo making my installation proper, dependable and permanent - too bad those types of connectors weren't provided with the kit.
