Love this lens
This is a great product. Very well made with good materials. Auto Focus is fast and silent. Has good weather sealing as well. Image quality is of professional level. Definitely recommend this over Canon one to save some good money.

Stellar image quality and performance
Meets or exceeds the Canon equivalent in every way. Crisp images with nice background separation at f2.8. AF is fast and quiet. VC (stabilization) works as advertised providing easy hand holding at 200mm down to 1/30s or slower if you have steady hands. Personally, I boost ISO and increase shutter speed before trying to shoot that slow since at that point I'm more concerned with subject movement than camera shake. The build quality of this latest generation of Tamron lenses is superb. This is a real pleasure to hold and work with for hours. Focus and zoom rings are smooth and well damped. The barrel finish is beautiful. One thing I have noted is that the AF and VC control switches seem to be more easily knocked out of position than the similar function switches on my Canons. I think this is partly due to the Tamron switches having slightly less resistance and possibly being slightly more exposed compared to the Canon switches. This has caused my to unexpectedly find myself shooting in manual focus mode after I had apparently moved the AF/MF switch while either carrying or unbagging the Tamron. An integrated Arca mount plate is awesome. Thank you Tamron.

Constantly in my rotation
I cannot say enough good things about this lens. I have been a photographer for over a decade and this lens has constantly been in my rotation for the last few years. The images are so sharp and beautiful. I think every photographer should have a 70-200mm in their bag. The only downfall is that it is a big lens which means it can get heavy, but this is going to be the case with most lenses of this size.

Wonderful lens... with two quirks
Excellent lens as far as image quality and I'll start by saying I love this lens, but two things to watch out for. First, my version of the lens needed A LOT of micro adjustment to focus on the right spot, which I read was common with this lens. If you aren't familiar with the process, read up on microadjustment and do it with this lens to get the most out of it. The lens was focusing almost 2" in front of where it was supposed to consistanly before the adjustment. I second-shot a whole wedding like this and was initially disappointed with the lens. I did the adjustment and it has been amazing ever since, made a huge difference. This lens by far needed more adjustment than any of my other lenses.Second issue is that the MF/AF and VC buttons are in a horrible location and not recessed enough if you use a sling strap, so I promise that you will repeatedly accidentally switch it to MF or turn VC off when you don't want to, and will miss an occasional shot because it isn't autofocusing when you expect it to. Again, I read this was a problem and can confirm that it is.All things considered, this is a wonderful lens, focuses fast, very sharp after the micro adjustment, and is my new workhorse lens. As annoying as the button issue is, it is still well worth the savings from the Canon version of this lens, highly recommend this lens.

I must say I love this lens when it comes to image quality.
I must say I love this lens when it comes to image quality. I had the old version of this lens and I think it also delivered great images. So here are the good bad and ugly.GoodFeels way more soild than the older version.I like the toggle switch vs the slide/pull ring to enter manual focus. The auto focus is crazy fast WAY faster than the older version.Bad/ uglyThing is heavyThe mount comes off but the little screws it leaves are feel odd.I have an engagement shoot this week I will update my review then.

Awesome lens! Works perfect on EF or adapted RF cameras!
I waited a couple weeks to test this lens out. I use a Canon adapter to use this lens on my R series cameras. I could not be happier! I’m a pro photographer and journalist, so I needed an f/2.8 that wouldn’t break the bank. This IS it. The autofocus is accurate and the tracking is the same as my branded lenses. See pics from this lens on my R7 & R5 cameras. As a bonus, it’s internal zoom, relatively light, and can be used for any type of activities. Fast or slow movements are a breeze with the correct settings on your camera.

I must lens
I only use 3 lenses, I'm not rich and if ur smart 3 and broke like me, this is one of the ones I need. Anyway this one is one of my favorite lenses, it's a great alternative for canons expensive white 70mm-200mm... This is my second Tamron lens, the other one was an older model. And its amazing, never given me problems. Not to mention my old model was used.
