1997's SUEÑOS LIQUIDOS was Mana's first #1 debut album in the states and it also produced the band's first #1 song, En El Muelle De San Blas. After four Top 10 hits from this album (En El Muelle De San Blas, Clavado En Un Bar, Hechicera and Como Dueles En Los Labios), Mana went on to witness their first sold out tour in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It was at this moment in time that critics and fans alike began to realize that this was a band that would secure their place in Latin music history.

Absolutely Completely Awesome, but...
Mana is absolutely the best, of course, and of all their albums this is my favorite. Every single one of the songs is worth it but I wanted to address an issue that surprised me a little, something that nobody seems to have encountered: At the end of the entire CD, on the track of "Amame hasta que me muera" there is a short pause, after which you can hear these almost satanic-like sounds, which makes me think of all those times you hear about cd's having "satanic" bits in them or if you play them backwards or something like that, and then these horrifying growling words (I speak both spanish and english fluently and could not recognize any of them) that sent goosebumps all over my body! I just want to know what the heck this is all about!

Wow, what a great album and brilliant sound!
This review is for Suenos Liquidos by Mana on DVD-Audio. As someone who had only heard two of Mana's albums (one being the unplugged live album), I was literally blown away. The quality of the songs is highly commendable and the hi-resolution stereo and surround offered on the dvd-audio is very good, among the best that I've heard (and I've heard most of those dvd-audios considered collectors items). So, if you want to hear something new and good in this rare format (DVD-Audio), I'd highly recommend this disc.

Cool
I bought this CD because of Clavado en un Bar, a song that brought back so many memories of playing pool in Laoconte, a bar in Ciudad Real, Spain. However, I was pleased to find that Mana's work is consistently very good. The latin beats of some songs are fun and the ballads are beautiful, especially if you can understand the words. A few songs are very late eighties sounding, something I can't really describe in detail, but I know it when I hear it. Maybe it has to do with the beat. The music is very good, I think it would be a big hit in America if Americans could ever get passed their desire for at least some english in their popular songs. This music energizes me. Good guitar work, great lyrics, fun songs that make you want to dance, and ballads that aren't corny make this album solid.

Great Album
There is nothing bad about this album. It includes the relaxing "En el Muelle de San Blas" and the darker "Hechicera", both of which are simply wonderful. While I am not fluent enough in Spanish to grasp the original intent and meaning behind the lyrics, it is possible to understand enough to get the point of the song and enjoy it. And even if you dont know a word of spanish, the music is enough to relax you and stick in your head. Yet another sweet album by these Grammy winners.
