I prefer hitting sweaty dudes in the face over rolling around on the ground with them (see Year of the Fighter: Lessons from my Midlife Crisis Adventure), but got the itch to tune up my ground game, so my kids got me "Alfred" for Father's Day. I stuffed one 20-pound box of Poly-Fil and half of a second box in him so he'd be nice and firm. What a fantastic BJJ partner! I've trained various arts on and off for 20+ years, and if I'd had this bad boy back in the 2000s, the at-home reps, ability to go full speed and full power would have made a huge difference. They're making a huge difference now -- haven't felt this competent on the ground in a long time, maybe ever. I love how he holds an open guard shape (just used YouTube + Alfred to learn the "three brothers" submission chain: arm bar, omoplata, triangle), which doubles as mount to work escapes (buck off, shrimp to guard). I hit him a little, but the Bob XL and speed bag in the garage are better suited for striking. But man, I can work all my submissions, position transitions, position escapes. My core is stronger, my moves are smoother and my endurance better every time I use him -- great way to get in 5-to-10 mins of practice at my convenience. I'm 5' 10" 150 lbs and he's a perfect size. My 14, 11 and 7-year-old kids can use him as well, though he's not the best for for the younger two. Durable so far -- thanks for the superb product! Doubles as creepy Christmas decoration. Experience: green belt in Shingatai Jiu Jitsu (among BJJ instructors), green belt in Isshinryu Karate (which incorporates jiu jitsu and MMA), retired amateur boxer and kickboxer (check out that book...), former small-time MMA striking instructor, combatives enthusiast. *For best results, also spend time in a quality dojo with live partners*

Takes alot of clothes/rags to fill but we got it done. It is great for drills, but I love it for teaching. I can demonstrate on the training dummy a few times, then walk my student through the basics a few times on it before moving to person against person drills. It was a good investment so far. I hope it is durable

The dummy worked well. This is the second one I have purchased but on the first day, because of faulty stitching, it tore it in the crotch. I can’t return it because I used my own stuffing. It would be good to get a free replacement. I was contacted by the company and they graciously are sending me a new dummy. Super customer service. I’ll definitely purchase future equipment from Daan MMA.

20lbs of Shredded Memory Foam fit perfectly in here. Had to ask my wife to fill the hands as it is a tight fit and the foam needs to be packed in there pretty good. The Memory Foam came in 4 packages and each were double wrapped in plastic. Once you cut the first plastic the foam will start to expand within the second plastic bag. I removed the outer plastic for 3 and left 1 unopened. 2.5 packs for the limbs and head. For the torso I carefully removed the outer plastic without cutting the inner plastic and quickly twisted the whole pack into the body. Made the final part super easy and gave the dummy a firm spine. You can see in the picture with the zipper the foam is still in the inner plastic. I use the remaining half pack to firm up the neck a bit more and used any remaining for the hips. Probably could have used another 5lbs to really firm up the hips some more.

I am a beginner BJJ practitioner (been going for 11 months), and this is perfect for drilling and even learning new moves! It helps at home because all I have to do is pull up a youtube video on a move, and follow along with the tutorial. 5 stars out of 5. I used 1/2 a box of 20 pound poly-fil and it worked great.

You'll need to buy about 8-15 lbs of polyfil (I bought 20 lbs, filled mine, filled a friends and then I have some left over).Also, when filling it with polyfil, put duct tape over the velcro as it'll stick to it. If it's too late or you forgot, you can take a hair comb and comb it through the velcro to get the polyfil out.It's durable and feels really high quality, I also like that I can add weight to it if I wish.

Much smaller than expected and difficulty stuffing but it’s very extremely sturdy and durable/tough

The dummy is not of the chosen brand. It is even unbranded. I didn't return it because I urgently needed to train. I have always used it delicately, but already on the second day of use, it tore. It is now full of very large tears. This product is really bad. I will never purchase anything from the ROX Fit retailer again.Il dummy non è della marca scelta. Esso è addirittura senza marca. I wasn't sure if I would use a grappling dummy or it could be useful to improve my jiujitsu but after 3 months of use I'm delighted with this dummy. I can only make training twice a week so the additional drilling at home with the dummy is noticeably improving my game. The dummy is good quality, durable and the shape is perfect for most common drills. Depending on how tight the filling is packed you need to stop once in a while to adjust the packing around the arms/shoulders but this only takes seconds. I'm very happy with this dummy and would recommend it to anyone.
