Q: What are the dimensions? Product Description says 27 x 26.6 x 6.8 inches, which makes no sense to me.

If I remember right, that was the shipping container dimensions they arrived in. Actual dimensions: Lid width: 14", Box width: 13 1/2"; Lid length: 15", Box length: 13 3/4"; Box with Lid Height: 13 3/4", Box height: 13". Hope this helps. :)

Q: how many albums will each box hold?

I have found that approximately 90 albums will fit in the box. Sometimes 95. LP's are made with different thickness sizes of vinyl and some albums come with two 12" vinyls. Therefore, it depends on the thickness of the LP, and if the album comes with more than one LP. It also depends on if you're storing your LPs with the jackets. (90-95 with jackets. You may get more without jackets but this, jacket-less, is not a great way to store your LP's.) Also remember, the more LP's you put in the boxes, the heavier the boxes get, and the less sturdy the bottom of the box will be. So when you're stacking your LP's check the direction the bottom of the box is going and stack your LP's opposite of it's direction. It may be a great idea to secure the bottom with adhesive. Nevertheless, the short answer to your question, is 90-95.

Q: are these boxes stackable?

I have just recently moved and we stacked 4 full boxes of top of each other with no problems. I emptied the boxes and now I am giong to use them for other storage needs. They are pretty sturdy.
