AN AWESOME SOFA!
I didn't order my Hogan 2 Seat Reclining Sofa from Amazon but directly from Ashley, since it was on sale in my area. It was delivered yesterday, February 6, 2016. I am giving my initial take on the sofa now and then will update it later, after having it for awhile. The sofa is AWESOME! I love the bulky, overstuffed appearance and feel; love how wide the reclining seats are. It is not as fluffy-soft to sit in as I had anticipated, but may with time; it does feel very nice, comfortable, and a far cry better than previous sofas hubby and I have had in the past. The material is nice; according to my husband (who knows his fibers), since it is made from quality micro-fiber it should wear very well. It reclines manually, nice and smooth. This is the first reclining seating I have had that didn't have the pull stick to recline, so I'm wondering how well this gadget that pulls out (as opposed to up and down) will wear. I admit I get a bit apprehensive pulling on it with the strength required to make it recline, afraid that it might break, but as I said before, that's because I'm not use to a reclining mechanism like this.Getting the seat back out of the reclining position takes a bit of effort; I have make a concentrated effort to thrust myself forward with force to get it to close. That's probably because I'm still regaining mobility and body strength after years of health complications and wheelchair confinement. It is much easier for hubby to get back into a sitting position than it is for me, so in time I anticipate it taking less effort. Speaking of reclining, the sofa seats recline nearly flat like a bed which is very, very nice.We love the balance of comfort and support the sofa provides; love the 'go-with-any-color-scheme' mocha color, and the bold, over-stuffed design. The arms are very comfortable and wide; wide enough for feline family members to snuggle on and nap while we watch TV. The fabric does have a nap. Advertisement description states the sofa is a full 96" long, but our sofa measures 94" from the very edge of one arm cushion (which extends a bit beyond the side of the sofa) to the other. The back of the sofa can be situated only 2 or 3 inches from a wall, and when fully reclined still not bump against the wall. Also, 32-inches is the narrowest opening/doorway that the sofa can be maneuvered through.I give this reclining sofa a full 5-star rating and have included a photograph of our lovely new Hogan. I will update this review in several months, after we have had time to determine the sofa's durability and how well it stands up to frequent use. (NOTE: this sofa will be getting much daily use as it is the only living room seating option in our small apartment.)JULY 10, 2016 UPDATE - we've had this sofa nearly 5 months now. It gets lots of use, but is wearing great. The reclining pull on my end of the sofa is still somewhat hard for me to pull out, but it is holding up fine. (I have discovered that the pull on hubby's end of the sofa is much easier to pull out than mine is, so now know that the problem I have having to pull hard to recline is unique to my pull.)The material is holding up well. Even though we have 2 (former shelter) cats, neither knead or scratch the sofa; I'm guessing that has something to do with it being made from microfiber material. The only tiny complaint hubby and I have with the sofa is that because it is made from microfiber, it holds on to every little particle (food crumb, lint, etc.) that falls on it. Brushing it from time to time, however, helps keep it looking nice. Other than that, we continue to love the sofa; so comfortable and roomy, how could we not.

HUUUUGGGE
Let me start by saying this chair is HUGE. It is easily the size of a loveseat in overall footprint, so be prepared space-wise. I'll start with the cons. First, the material on this chair is suede-like and may end up being too hot during the summer months. Second, when the chair is reclined there is a big gap between the seat and back cushion. This becomes a problem when you have young children who like to stuff toys down there.Obviously, I rated this chair very favorably, so on to the pros of the chair. This chair is very easy to curl up in with children, your spouse, maybe a dog or two. Seriously, this chair is roomy and sturdy. It is not falling over backwards when someone gets too rowdy. The material is buttery soft and feels cozy during the colder months. This chair can act as an extra bed. In fact, it has become my daughter's preferred place to nap. Overall, this has been a great purchase.

Love my chair!!
I purchased the chair about a month ago for an apartment I am renting on a temporary assignment, based on comments of other purchasers. I am writing the review now, so I had an opportunity to really use the chair. First as for shipping, the delivery arrived on the day as stated and the box was intact without any damage. Putting the chair together was a snap but, it took two people because of the width. Also lifting and moving the chair bottom required two people because of the width and weight. The back has a mounting bracket on either side which slides into the bottom chair piece receivers easily. Once the back piece is on, the material at the bottom of the back has Velcro which attaches to the chair bottom. As was pointed out by other reviewers, there is ample seating room for you and children or pets. The fabric is soft and feels snugly comfortable. The cushioning is firm where it needs to be and is holding up nicely. It's great to sleep on also and has both a semi-recumbent and recumbent position. Since getting the chair, I put it to the test when I developed a cold and with it nasal drainage. When I tried laying flat on my bed I would wake up because of the drainage so, I tried sleeping in the chair because I could put it in the recumbent position. Well, that turned out to be a great idea because I got relief and sleep. I would add that I did not slide down the chair unlike what happens when I sleep on my adjustable bed at home. If you or someone you know has problems at night sleeping flat because of heart or breathing problems this would be a good option. The control to adjust the chair is on the right side and is shaped so that you slip your fingers under the edge and lift up. The chair then moves quickly and effortlessly to the semi-recumbent position,One reviewer commented that she was concerned that because the handle is made of a hard plastic it might break. Since the handle seems to me also as somewhat iffy, I apply a little back pressure on the foot rest with my feet as I am seated in the chair and starting to recline it. It would be nice if the manufacturer would use metal there instead of plastic.By the way, when the chair is in the seated position the depth from the front to back of the seat is great for a tall person but,t a shorter person like myself needs to put a pillow behind the back. When changing the chair position from reclined to sitting it's necessary to put a firm push against the footrest with your feet. When I got the chair I thought it was broken because I couldn't get the chair to stay upright. Anyway, I finally and thankfully recognized the need to push firmly. If a child or adult without strength attempts to do this it might pose a problem. I do wonder if the manufacturer chose this mechanism over the handle on the side style because of the size of the chair. One last observation. Be sure and measure the area of the room where the chair is to go because it is good size.Overall, I'll again say that I really like the chair. Now I am debating whether to drag this chair back to my home or just leave it and buy another when my assignment is done.
