I am no "pro" when it comes to harmonicas. I just like to play them. And although this East Top Harmonica is a Chinese made item, I haven't been able to fault it by comparison. I really like the tone of this instrument. It's sound is ever so subtly different than my Hohner. Just a pleasing sound/tone that I personally enjoy. It is well made and I like the zippered case which comes with it, which is also well made. Note-bending seems a little easier for me with this harmonica as well. If you're in the market, and don't want the additional 20 to 30 dollar expense for the more well known brand name harmonicas out there, I don't see/hear any way that you will slight yourself with this quality instrument. UPDATE: 10-10-24: I purchased a second harmonica from this company and I wasn't so lucky with this one. The #7 draw hole would make no sound right out of the box. The product information listed on Amazon states that these harmonicas are "factory tested". I must conclude then, that depending on who is awake or asleep at the switch in quality control will determine whether you get a good instrument or not. Just so you know.....

Good starter harmonica. However, the #2 hole is flat. All other holes are crisp, loud and responsive. But #2 sounds dead and is extremely hard to blow and draw on. Maybe just a dud. This harmonica has great reviews on Harmonica.com for being reasonable in price and good quality. I guess I just got a dud. I would buy another one. But I think I'll upgrade to one that is a little more upscale. I've picked up the lessons so far pretty quickly. This is a very easy harp to learn on. I'm just bummed about that #2. But still, a very good little harp.

I'm a guitar player that enjoys making and playing music but do not want to lug a guitar around. The harmonica is pocket carry and I can practice and play music anywhere. Great sound and pretty easy to learn.I have had Marine bands harmonicas in the years past to putts around with. Was not sure if I was going to stay with it. So the cost you cannot go wrong. Well constructed and nice case.. Lots of YouTube beginner harmonica lessons to get started. Having a blast learning what I never learned.

I’m quite pleased with the harmonica. I actually pondered over this purchase for several days. At half the price, the Fender Deluxe was appealing. As a newbie, I didn’t want to spend too much. I’m not musical, can’t play any instruments, and can’t read music. I’m not really a huge music fan either. I express myself through photography. I bought a harmonica because it’s pretty easy to make noise and that’s really what I want to do. Regardless, if I don’t like it or can’t pick up the harmonica, it’ll end up in a drawer. I’m also asthmatic, so sucking and blowing can be a laborious effort. I read the reviews, watched YouTube videos and visited mfg websites. Everyone talked about how responsive the 008K is to minimal effort, and the reviews compared it to the Fender Deluxe. That’s why I bought this harmonica, and I’m happy to say they are right about the 008K.The harmonica is well made and comfortable in my hand. No sharp edges. The blue color is pleasing and I chose this one because it’s stainless steel. The black one is sexy but not stainless. It came in a box that reminds me of pocket knife boxes, which I like a lot. The zippered case is a snug fit, offers nice protection, and will make it easy to slide in and out of my pocket.I can’t make a legitimate recommendation to musicians, but if you’re interested in trying to learn and want a quality instrument at a lower price point, this is a good choice.

Really impressed by this harmonica. I have a Hohner Crossover, a Seydel Classic and a Lee Oskar so I can easily compare and I can say that EastTop does not deceive in a bit. Sound quality is very similar to Lee Oskar, even the materials used are of high quality. A perfect harmonica for beginners, much better than Fender Deluxe (which I also own).

I have to get used to the higher tone of the Key of E, but this harmonica is very good. I have played a Suzuki Overdrive for over 15 years with the same reeds, and wanted to try the East Top, since I felt the Hohner is overpriced, and I have had a Hohner Pro Harp, in which the reeds failed multiple times (probably my fault when I was blowing too hard, but I have never blown a reed from my Suzuki Overdrive), so not a fan of Hohner, but this harmonica from East Top is beautiful, has a great carry case, and it plays very well. Since it is getting hard to get replacement reeds for my Suzuki Overdrive, I was hoping that the East Top might be an alternative, and I feel I have a winning combo in playing the East Top harmonicas! I have also bought Keys of G and Key of C in the East Top, and I LOVE the Key of G, so rich sounding and it resonates so beautifully! The East Top has larger holes than my Suzuki Overdrive, so single not playing is more definitive, but I still adore my Suzuki Overdrive for chords and vibrato, and overall incredible depth of sound and rich tone.
