Simple to use if you struggle with a smart phone.
I bought this for my elderly father as he struggles with a smart phone. He finds it easy to use as it has large buttons and the numbers on the display are large, he can easily make and answer a call. One day, he may even master a text message!

Main thing is – it doesn't work
Physically the phone seems a really good option for older people, or those with Alzheimers like my mum, who has "broken" another phone. We live 100 miles away, so I just had to get a phone and a new sim card for her, then post it and see how long it takes her to lose, sorry break, break, this one.Now I accept the first mistake was my fault - I got her a Smarty sim as they're the cheapest. But they only work with 3G and above. This phone is only 2G, so I hold my hands up there, my bad. We've since tried EE, GiffGaff, O2 and T-Mobile, and it won't recognise a single card. They all work with 2G according to their customer service, and each time we give up on one card we break it down to the nano sim (because this phone takes the old giant sim card and literally no one else's phone in the world does) and it works in ours.My mum's also spending a small fortune on non-functioning sim cards and first month's calls and data (which she doesn't need as a smart phone is way beyond her grasp) in the process.Unfortunately I chucked the box and packaging out when it arrived as "what could go wrong with a £26 phone really?" Well everything as it goes.Think we'll just have to go to a physical shop and get whatever the simplest thing they have is with a functioning sim. It does make you think it's a shame there's not more options out there for older people, particularly those with dementia, but obviously they're not a big returning customer demographic so there's capitalism for you.

Highly recommend, my father in law can now speak to family members who live far away.
Bought this for my father in law as he has had difficulties with a normal Nokia phone, not hearing them, unable to see the buttons, doesnt hear it ring and struggles to hear the person on the other end of the line. We bought him this to make things a little easier.. It has opened up a whole new world for him.. He can now hear it ringing and can conversate with people without being unable to hear them and cut the phone call short. He constantly had problems with the Nokia phones, as outlined above, but also breaking all the time.. We we're replacing the phone every 3 months.. This phone has been great for him, he has had no problems, it is cost effective and like I said, he has been able to communicate with family members who live far away from us and conversate. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Too easy to accidentally switch the phone off
This is a lovely simple phone to use. Unfortunately the “hang up” button is also the “power off” button so my father often accidentally switches the phone off without realising as his manual dexterity is poor.
