Performs better than claims
This little product will froth your milk in about 5 seconds, without mess or fuss, seriously, if you follow the extremely simple, foolproof directions. I was quite surprised at the quick action and impressed at the efficiency of this little unit. The case is solid, feels quality made and it's very stable sitting on the coffee bar in the provided bracket and looks quite nice. It also packs into luggage quickly - it's surprising how a bit of beaten milk will make even questionable coffee better. The actual beater is a sturdy, semi-flexible little wand perfect for dealing with liquids on a small scale, quickly - anything much thicker or bigger and you'd end up with a large ball of suds exploding out of your pitcher.Getting that microfoam style takes a little fiddling and experimentation - I found that keeping the wand deep, rounding it around the cup, then removing the Aerolatte (uh, stopping it first, apparently that's not a given with some of these reviews here) and then slamming the pitcher onto the counter a few times (which is how they do it at local coffee shops) results in a 'settled' foam and one that is creamier with smaller bubbles. You can also swirl as you pour into your espresso which compresses the foam and gives it that micro feel. If you like the Starbucks soap suds style, run the wand a little higher in the milk, then after you're done, place a knife against the pitcher, pour your milk, then spoon the foam atop. This works as well for a cappuccino. Be sure you use warm or hot milk. Use a deeper cup, pitcher or tumbler, as per directions."Milkshakes" mean something a little different overseas than it does here - it's very cold milk beaten up with flavouring into a rich mixture, sort of like a light, foamy smoothy, not the actual ice cream beaten up, so the use pattern is different for that. It won't beat big hunks of ice cream or anything. While the milk heats in the microwave I pull my shots, then whiz the milk, which takes a next to no time, put it all together, and there it is. Several times a day.Oh yeah - no kid gloves; just, you know, just use your head. :-p

Excellent froth. Convenient. Small. Travel ready too.
I normally use a larger countertop froth that heats and whips. But I wanted a small travel frother to use when I am on vacation. I just popped a little bit of milk into a glass into the microwave to heat it up and then used the small inexpensive whip to get an amazing froth. And, it even comes with a little traveling case to keep it secure. Highly recommend. Five stars.

Mr. Coffee, Bodum and the Aerolatte.
The Mr. Coffee Milk Frother , BODUM Schiuma Milk Whip and Aerolatte Milk Frother appear to be the 3 most popular milk frothers in the under $20 range. I've had all three and currently have two remaining. The Bodum died after 2 months. All run on 2 AA batteries. Regardless of which one you decide, don't set your expectations too high as all three have drawbacks.I was quite pleased with the Bodum Schiuma. As far as torque, the Bodum appears to be the best of the three. I was able to whip up a good amount of froth when mixing up to 10-oz of milk. So if cappuccinos are your thing, then the Bodum is a strong contender. Although inconveniently placed on the top, the Bodum has a real on/off switch. Inconvenient meaning it's slightly tough to get to turn off. Many time this will result in you accidentally lifting the frother from the milk resulting in milk flying everywhere. As far as reliability, I can't give the Bodum a good rating. It died after 2 months of use.Now needing another frother and not wanting to wait for one to come through the mail, I purchased the Mr. Coffee frother from one of those big box stores for $10. Compared to the Bodum and Aerolatte, the Mr. Coffee finishes a distant third. The Mr. Coffee will polish the milk nicely and produce a very nice micro-film. If Lattes or Macchiatos are your drinks of choice, the Mr. Coffee will do the job as both drinks call for little foam. However, expect to whip up enough milk for one drink at a time. The Mr. Coffee begins to bog down when trying to mix up more than 4-oz of milk. At 8-oz, the Mr. Coffee can't cut the mustard. It will take a good 60-80 seconds to produce an acceptable polish and little foam. At more than 8-oz of milk, the Mr. Coffee is totally worthless. Also, that big on/off switch is nothing more than a cheap contact switch, and it's very, very touchy. If the wind blows, the frother starts. Many times this means it starts when you don't intend it to and like the Bodum, you get a milk shower. Now wanting something to move more volume, I ordered the Aerolatte through Amazon. If the Aerolatte had the Bodums torque, it would be the overall best of the three. Unfortunately, the torque is just slightly less. At 4-oz of milk, the Aerolatte will quickly polish and create a nice micro-foam. With a few seconds more and no effort, it will produce a thicker foam for those cappuccinos. At 8-oz, the Aerolatte struggles just slightly at the start but quickly rebounds. Count on mixing for at least 60-seconds before getting a high volume of cappuccino style foam. But even at that, results are inconsistent. On one try I might get good volume, and the next, poor volume. So 7-oz is about the maximum amount the Aerolatte can handle and produce acceptable results. In my honest opinion, all three frothers are poorly made. Only the Aerolatte has any feel of quality, and even that isn't much to write home about. I've been itching to try another Bodum due to the impressive torque, but have held off as I want to leave the battery operated department and move to an electric mixing stick with a frother attachment. Currently, I'm using Ni-Cad batteries in both my remaining frothers to insure maximum charge as a small drop in battery power greatly affects performance. If you're considering any of these frothers, then you also need to seriously consider buying rechargeable batteries and a charger. However, by the time you add up the costs for all of this stuff, you may just want to consider a mixing stick. 120 volts of electric versus 3 volts of battery power is a huge difference, especially if you're going to be making more than two drinks.

Fabulous Frother
Great little fritter for the money. I use it every night for my London Fog drink. Easy to fit in my utensil drawer, easy clean up. Blends my oat milk into a great foam !

Very Poor Quality
I have had Aerolatte for years. It is a beautiful stainless steel, well made and quality. The button had begun to get hard to move up and over the years, Aerolatte had begun to wear off the handle. I decided to order another one. It came in one of those impossible to open without destroying - packages. OK, it was an "Aerolatte" and I did not intend to take it back.In the package it looked exactly like the one in my hand BUT WHEN I OPENED (DESTROYING THE PACKAGE), it was a cheap plastic, light weight immitation of the stainless steel Aerolatte I had.STAY AWAy from this cheap iPLASTIC immitation. it is not "THE ORIGINAL STEAM-FREE FROTHER. IT DOES NOT HAVE A SATIN FINISH . . . IT IS GRAY PLASTIC!I intend t send this back, even with the destroyed packaging. I may not get my money back but if you buy this piece of junk, it is on you. My adviice - Spend your money on a good frother, not this one.added to original review:I did not return it in time so I decided to try and use it. Put the batteries in it, it worked twice and now, no longer turns on at all.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
