One of the greats.
I collect knives and have used one everyday for decades. That being said, there are very few knives I've seen or owned that get me as stoked as this one. There is very little I would change on the Demo, good weight, good feel, solid grip though some might gripe about the Kraton its tacky and holds up to the elements better than an organic material like stacked leather. The saw-back is actually functional and stops about and inch or 1.5 inches from the point, the remainder of which is not sharp which rules this out as "double edged" by technicality (although it could easily be sharpened if one were so inclined).I'm not sure about its combat effectiveness but I imagine it would poke a hole in something as well as anything else and it is built nice and sturdy. My primary view of its utility would be as an outdoor, survival, bush crafting knife.

Incredible Knife, but Sheath is Average at Best
Just arrived (scary how fast Amazon delivered this - less than 48 hours), so have not used. Had some finer prints when I opened, so immediately wiped the blade down with 3-in-1 oil. Looks great now. This knife is ferocious. I also have the SOG Tech Bowie (which is an amazing knife). When I compared the two, the Demo is a bit heavier because of the blade. And the blade...it is gorgeous. Had read contrasting reviews about how sharp the serrated back was. I can only speak for my blade, but the serrations are very sharp. And as for the other side, equally sharp straight edge. The one bad point is the sheath. Another review is very accurate on the problem I have with this sheath: "Poor quality sheath. Back of snap that secures the knife rubs against the knife every time it is inserted or withdrawn." There is also a "stud" that holds the leather together, so both sides of this blade are pushed against plastic/metal pieces. Very disappointing design from such a high quality manufacturer. While I've read the recommendations to purchase a SpecOps sheath, I shouldn't have to - this knife is so spectacular, it should come with a sheath that was better designed and tested. If anyone has a suggestion on which SpecOps sheath to purchase, I'd be happy to hear.My thoughts on the sheath aside (and I will not drop below five stars because of the sheath), this knife is truly impressive. I am glad I made the purchase and added it to my small collection of SOG knives (Tech Bowie, Seal Pup Elite, Escape). If I had to, I would buy this knife again, regardless of the sheath.

SOG Demo/ Excellent retooling
First off, I would like to state that Amazon, LLC has mistakenly used the image of the SOG Force in most of their images under this heading, but, if you order the demo, that is what you will receive. Hopefully this will get corrected shortly, and I have uploaded two customer images of the actual knife. With that having been said, the knife itself is well designed and would make a good survival tool in my opinion. I own one of the originals as well, and as a scuba diver, often thought that having a leather washer handle was sub-optimal. This version of the knife is much better suited for dive use, though it does come with a leather sheath(If you do wish to dive with it, SpecOps makes a kydex/nylon sheath which will fit the DEMO). Knife is shaving sharp directly from the manufacturer and just under 1/4" in thickness. I have used it in saltwater with no rust issues, as long as it is cleaned promptly. Serrations work well on rope, wood, and canvas, not so great on vines or thorny brush. Blade handles chopping well, as well as kitchen chores, such as peeling and dicing apples. The handle is extremely comfortable, and the pommel could handle light hammering chores, though it would damage the appeareance of it. Overall, a great knife, and an amazing revitilization of a classic knife. I believe this would make Ben Baker proud.

too much $
I thought I'd splurge on a nice knife. My ESEE-6 and RAT-7 are much stronger, have a finer finish and are less money.Even the sheath sucks.

Disapointed
Knife came needing to be sharpened. Poor quality sheath. Back of snap that secures the knife rubs against the knife every time it is inserted or withdrawn. The leather strap that secures the knife wasn't long enough to snap. Had to buy a Spec-Ops sheath for the knife. Wouldn't buy another Sog with a leather sheath.

This gave me +2 attack
This is one of the better knives I owned. The weight feels just right and it's very well balanced, unlike the Schrade Extreme SCHF3 that I hadBut those with huge palms may find the handle a tad short, you can google reviews on Youtube to have a gauge of its length. It would be nice if it's slightly longer. The rubber grip on the handle is really excellent, soft and provides a great gripMy only concern is that all synthetic rubber deteriorates over timeIt may become hard or cracked, or soften and sticky :(For my blade, It didn't come razor sharp like other reviewers had. I encountered some resistance while slicing thru a piece of A4 paper.I find the other blades like the Ka-Bar, CRKT and Cold steel came slightly sharper. As for the sheath, the strap to clip on the blade sharpener was rather short.I couldn't clip the strap on.Overall, this is still an excellent knife 5 stars no doubtLastly, I felt my overall combat skills was given a +2 attack, haha
