Incipio Octane Case for HTC U11 Smartphone - Black

Got mine a little over 2yrs ago (upgraded to a Oneplus 8t) as I had my htc u11 since it launched in the U.S. original otterbox knock off I had on it (also purchased via Amazon) fell apart in about a year. Started out strong, didn't last long term.This case is much slimmer, and the squeeze feature still works. However durability is not it's forte. Not only did I crack my display in 3 places, and back was shattered after a 4 ft fall with this case. It completely fell apart after about 2 years (back portion seperated from the frame itself). And I been running it like that, till the phone itself ultimately died for the last time, in store as I was upgrading (it was over 3yrs old, so battery just got worse and worse as time went on. As all phones do after the 2 year mark)For the price, it was alright. Got it for about $6 shipped. Packaging it came in was damaged though. Not sure if it was a return (hence the reduced price) but it was all one piece. Had very high ratings initially on Amazon. I needed a case, so I got it.I don't abuse my devices, or otherwise test cases for durability on purpose. It was nice because it's slim, and easier to fit in your pocket. Not as slippery as the phone itself was, but I still used a pop socket for added piece of mind. One drop, I only dropped the phone once in that case (had headphones connected and they caught on the door knob when passing through, and pretty much yanked the phone out of my hand.) Guess it broke whatever part that the rear plastic part, used to adhere to the rubber frame part. And it sure as hell didn't protect the phone itself. So not only didn't it protect my U11, it fell apart on top of it, when actually experiencing impact from a drop. A 4ft drop to a laminate floor too. Not concrete, gravel, asphalt.That said, there are far better cases out there, than this one. I would of been livid, had I paid the original cost when this case first became available, which If I am not mistaken, was like $28.

The sides of a nice grip and feel to them and the power and volume buttons work well with good feed back through the case. The back kind of has a soft feel to it even though it is a hard back. The back is a little slippery, I would like some texture or ridges back there to aid in grip when using the phone one handed. The case appears to have openings cut for all 4 mic holes however, there is a 5th hole between the bottom speaker and the USB C port that is covered. I'm not sure what that hole is and I know it's not a mic hole so I'm not sure if it will cause a functional problem or not.

The case fits perfectly. The cutouts for the microphones, speaker and charging port are all centered. I've found that one major problem with many cases of this style is once on the buttons for power and volume become less pronounced. This is not an issue with this case. The buttons are well defined and nicely tactile.

Great case but doesn't last it will separate right at the seam. I have had other cases that are way old than this case and are still in perfect condition. Poor durability..

Case looks great. Much more slim than it looked in the pictures, which is a plus for me. Sides have nice serrated edges for grip. Back could be a little better for grip but it feels nice. Paid $11. Much better than buying from HTC.

Great lightweight case for the awesome U11. It's a bit thinner than I expected for the price but seems to protect the phone enough.

Absolutely great for the price.I have dropped my phone several times since buying this without any damage occurring whatsoever.
