works, replace the plastic funnel part
The drum needs to be high enough above whatever you are pumping from to actually work. So, if you want to bend over and do it, fine...but, rather annoying and not functional for me. I went to menards, purchased $17 worth of materials (a thick rubberized pipe to extend it two feet on the bottom, and a real hose for the spout), now it works wonderfully! The mechanical pump works fine, but you have to keep turning it. It doens't work like a siphon at all. The moment you stop turning, the fuel/waterever backs and falls out the bottom. So, if you have to stop and keep checking if its the destination is almost full, this is kind of annoying, as you start pumping from the bottom again. But, fully functional, and robust enough to last a long time. Its a great backup to the electric pumps I use. I would buy, but plan on getting hoses.

Contaminates the source and the destination of water with grease and black specks
The pump worked well but it immediately filled our bucket. We were filling with black specks and a greasy substance. After we used it for several bucketfuls, we realized that the source 55 gallon drum of water that we had was also full of the black specks and the water was greasy. We ran it through the whole barrel to see if it would stop but it never did. Not sure if we got a defective one, but this is unacceptable to contaminate a water source, or even worse if you were using it for gas to contaminate your gas tank.

Super impressed! Took a few turns to get fuel primed but works great! Seems very sturdy

Worked well for how cheap it is
I liked it got couple months ago using for barrel of resin pipe is very thin but so far holding strong and not clog or leaked I know resin is real thick but other I bought broke cause resin was so thick

Stopped working quickly
The overall quality of this pump is low. It isn't a good choice for an industrial environment.

Inexpensive
Look, it’s cheap, and the pumping action feels like it. But it was perfect for what I needed (pumping waste motor oil), and it’ll probably last the rest of my life.Don’t get it to pump water, though. Doesn’t like it!
