Why did you pick this product vs others?:Makita, the gold standard of cordless tools! This series, the sub-compact, is a joy to use. Fits so well in your hand. Powerful with a brushless motor, I highly recommend this set. Worth noting that the set here is by far the best price. More than $100 less than HD and every other retailer out there. I only needed the driver and privately sold the impact for $140. Additionally, you may get lucky and receive 2.0 batteries instead of the 1.5. as I did.

What can you say. Makita makes high quality tools. What is especially notable about these is the compact design. They a much smaller than my other Makita models with no noticeable difference in driving performance. Also they are brushless which is always a plus. Highly recommend.

I absolutely adored this set and bought one from the local big box following return.Unfortunately, this item was shipped to me used and the chuck on the drill was stuck/broken. It made a horrible cracking noise whenever loosening or tightening the chuck. Kind of the same noise it makes a couple times as the chuck is fully tightened.My last Sub-Compact set was basically the version of this from 15 years ago and was flawless until I killed it mixing thinset when no other drill was available. This new set is lighter and much more powerful, responsive, and even speedier. I have several drills from dewalt and makita that I have put through there paces as much as a real home DIY'er can. The subcompacts are my favorite to hook to my belt and climb a few stories or throw in the back of my truck as I goto help a friend. I really can't recommend enough for a secondary drill or for a light home DIY'er. Just don't overload them doing something stupid like mixing grout/thinset, or driving XL lag bolts.

These are powerful, easy to hold, and the battery lasts a long time.

I have only used this drill twice for very light household projects. Third time trying to use it, the chuck seized up rendering the tool useless. I'm so disappointed. I thought Makita was one of the best brands out there.I wrote to Makita and am awaiting their response. I asked for a full refund or for them to pay shipping charges to their repair facility. I don't think I should have to incur that cost for a defective product. I'll update my review with their response. I hope their customer service is better than their tool.
