Amazingly beautiful!
I loved loved loved this book! I have read a lot of books from different authors & for me there are only a few that I would say were born to write! Ella Maise is certainly one of them because this book for me was absolute perfection. It’s a slow burn story love that develops between a rich lawyer, Jack and a wanna be coffee shop owner, Rose. Straight off the bat the scene is set where Jack offers Rose a deal that she simply cannot refuse that will make her dream come true but the snag is that she has to marry him. This alone will grab your interest and keep you turning the pages because Jack & Rose don’t know each other! As the story begins to unfold you get to see, feel and experience every step of the way how their feelings grow towards each other. Jack is a very no nonsense type of guy, he is broody, surly and always wears a frown on his face, never smiling. You can never tell what he’s thinking because he never shows his emotions. Rose on the other hand is the complete opposite, she’s very talkative and wears her emotions on her sleeve! They are opposites but she’s good for him & he’s someone she never knew she needed, let alone fall for.You don’t find out until much later in the book what Jack’s motives are for asking her to marry him but until you get to that point you get to experience Rose opening up her beloved coffee shop (with Jack’s help) and all of her little quirks! And because this book is told from a dual point of view you also have the privilege of being in Jack’s head and feel all of his emotions when he slowly but surely falls in love with Rose. There is also a part in the book that captures Rose being claustrophobic, which is written so well that you (and Jack) just feel her pain and suffer right along with her! This book had so much depth and was so beautifully written; it was witty in places, serious & sexy at the same time and you will absolutely fall in love with both characters.I could not fault it, it was an outstanding piece of work.

An amazing marriage of convenience novel!
This started off as 5 starts for me, even at the start I was a little sceptical as to how a contemporary novel can be 510+ pages and not drag. I didn’t feel it drag at all until maybe around 300-350? I do feel like overall this was a little too long.I loved the start, the very grumpy and sunshine, all of the little things Jack did to help Rose, they were probably my favourite part of the book- made me fall for Jack right along with Rose!Towards the end Rose started to get a little annoying in the way she spoke and her thoughts, I would look forward to Jacks POV chapters more but this was a massive plus that this book had dual POV.Some tropes are: grumpy and sunshine, marriage of convenience, illness and caringSpice: 🌶

So worth it!
This is a fake marriage trope with two people who at first sight don’t like other but the truth is the complete opposite. They don’t know how to express their feelings and mistake everything the other person shows for negative feelings when the truth is that both are actually learning to love and trying to find happiness in their situation. Jack is closed off but Rose is outspoken and the two of them together mix well, complementing their personalities and growing together until they meet in the middle in a pretty awesome couple. The romance is slow burn and incredibly sweet, it was also very steamy which is a huge plus, their banter is funny making their interactions entertaining, and the drama didn’t go the way I was expecting -including the resolution - which was a nice surprise. I had a lot of fun reading this book and loved that it never felt flighty, instead it was very emotional and felt full with characters that were deep and complex.

Satisfying Slow(ish) Burn
Read this through the night as I just HAD to know what happened. Really loved the characters and, overall, enjoyed it. Slow burn to start, then picks up to be very steamy/romantic/satisfying in second half of the book. A few bothersome bits that didn’t quite gel with me (but am willing to overlook) was the plot “twist” was pretty weak (and some of the plotting around that) and because we were kept in the dark for a lot of the book, Jack’s perspective sometimes got a bit frustrating to read due to this “twist”. Some bits were also somewhat repetitive and, really, a bit too much detail on the nasal drip, although it makes sense in the end (and leads to some very sweet moments between the MC, so agin will forgive)First book by this author and will definitely seek out her other ones.

Perfect romantic read
Jack and Rose were pure perfection. This is such a beautiful story, its one book i always reread when i need a pick me up. Jack and Rose(yes titanic feels) were so endearing and just had that epic romance feel. It's one of the best marriage of convenience, boy obsessed, grumpy-sunshine trope books written.Jack is the type of romantic hero that I love; he's broody, stoic, handsome but is vulnerable and a softie inside and his love for Rose just melts me. The fact he saw her and was like yes this is my future wife loool all the feels. Rose is a character who is a queen, her resilience and strength is something that I resonated with and I loved her drive and fight. She is a beautifully written heroine and im so happy she found her prince charming in Jack. This is a story about love, loss, taking chances and finding that someone who is your soulmate. If you have yet to read this book, then please make this your next read (also the bonus epilogue had me swooning sooo hard)

A Romantic Love Story
Well written. Great story line and flowed easily. Some romantic sex scenes but not many, so I wouldn’t call it a steamy read. However it did fit in with the story line, so the sex scenes weren’t written just for the sake of it which I liked. The only thing is it didn’t make me cry, when I read I want to feel all the emotions but although this book was very romantic it didn’t wreck me. Sometimes though, it’s just nice to read a good romantic story 🥰
