Back-Weighted when Cap is Posted + Narrow, Triangular Grip
I have mixed feelings about this pen. The broad nib is smooth-writing. Satisfying in this regard. Doesn’t lay as well-saturated a line as the TWSBI Eco broad, and is not quite as smooth-writing as that pen. When the cap is posted, the pen is imbalanced (back-weighted) which bothers me. The grip is triangular and too narrow for my medium size hand, neither of which feel very good to me. It’s a clear barreled pen but the overall pen design allows for only a very little small area where the ink can be seen — which seems just backwards to me. The Z24, Z26, Z27 + Z28 ink converters all fit the Lamy Vista (sold separately, unfortunately) but only the Z27 converter comes in clear and black with no red twist knob at the back. If you use red ink, then the other three converters would maybe be your best bet, but it not, get the Z27 so that through the translucent barrel you’re not looking at a lot of black, with a little glimpse of the chosen ink color, and an weirdly obvious view the red twist knob of the converter. Overall the design is very good and smooth to load, clean and write with — yay! But visually, aesthetically, it leaves a lot to be desired. (Kudos for the functional and lovely curved design of the clip — beautiful, large and easy to use.)

Good but not great - nibs don’t work for me
I’m a left-handed hook writer who likes fountain pens with some feedback and I have a heavy hand.I’ve tried the Lamy fine, medium, and stub and found all of them so-so for my writing style. Figured I try a broad to see if this might work, but the results were the same. I’ll now play with these nibs and see if I can find more to like.

Loving this pen
It’s hard to find a broad nib pen. This one truly leaves a broad streak of ink. It writes smoothly. I even like the color of the blue ink that came in the cartridge shipped with it. The pen is comfortable in my hand. I like that screwing the body back onto the nib securely seats the cartridge. There is a bit of ink leakage into the clear plastic sheath that holds the nib- not ideal. If the pen were not a demonstrator, no one would notice!

Very nice!
Excellent pen (I had it for 2 days only so far). The clip is sturdy and clips well. The pen writes very well, smooth and nice. Careful though, it sucks A LOT of ink (I have the broad nib model). I am almost half way through the cartridge. I use the adapter to recharge the ink myself which makes it WAY cheaper and lasts way longer.Anyhow, Lamy's great. I normally only use Waterman and sometime Parker or Pelikan but this one is very nice + the see through aspect really makes it a great object and very practical.**update**8 months later, I can say this is an amazing pen. I have been using it everyday and recharging it with the original Lamy refill and it is a pleasure to write with it. It's smooth and lasts forever. You can have it with you, in your shirt's pocket, in your bag or drawer, it works fine and never dries. Really good investment.

A Near-Perfect Fountain Pen
I have a number of fountain pens from three well-known manufacturers, and I enjoy the fountain pen experience in writing. The Lamy Vista demonstrator with broad nib is the best writing pen I have ever used. It writes smoothly, doesn't skip or drag, and is perfectly balanced for ease of use. The ink flows freely but does not overflow to produce either blotches, smears or messy fingers. The clear, demonstrator case makes all the components visible, and together with the unique pocket clip, makes the pen a great conversation piece. It has evoked a number of comments during the short time I have owned it. I gave the pen a five-star rating for its unique design, flawless performance and unmatched value. I would recommend this pen to anyone who enjoys or wants to enjoy the fountain pen experience.

You Have to Love The Vista!
The Vista is the "Demonstrator" version of the Lamy Safari. What's a Demonstrator? Put simply, it's a Fountain Pen that is clear so you can see through it, to view the internal workings. It's cool to see the Ink come out of the Cartridge/Converter and go into the Feed and then be deposited on the page by the Nib. I replaced my Broad Nib with a Lamy 1.1 Stub Nib, which I absolutely Love! But the Lamy Broad Nib is a very nice NIb to have. I'd say it writes similarly to a Liquid Ink Pen like the Pilot Precise series, but much wider. If you are looking to write small this is not your Nib. But if you write big and bold or want to write that way, the Lamy Broad is the way to go!

It's wasn't a Lamy. It was a cheap broken Chinese fountain pen.
Fraud!

Good nib, feather light barrel
I bought this to offer to a friend that has issues with the heavier fountain pens. She was delighted. That is good enough for me.
