kenable ADSL 2 High Speed Broadband Modem Cable RJ11 to RJ11 2m 6 feet WHITE

As a professional IT support engineer i have always recommended people new routers and modems instead of using the standard BT or Virgin hubs to achieve higher broadband speeds but i had always ignored the RJ11 cable which very often is a poor quality (unshielded) flat cable that is very susceptible to electronic interference. When this cable arrived i was impressed with the quality of the cable and promptly installed it into my network. I was getting a 4.8Mb/s sync speed and after installing this cable and restarting the hub my sync speed has jumped to over 5.6Mb/s. I wasn't expecting such a dramatic increase from just a cable and after a few days BT should adjust line speed and i may see an even larger increase in speed. So a 5/5 product that for something so simple and cheap COULD make a big difference to your connection speeds.

Great cable I have been having issues with fibre broadband and BT could not find the issue even after a visit to my house and connecting to my old cable. I bought this cable as I was never happy with the thin cheapy cable the engineer fitted when installing my fibre broadband. Instantly my dropouts ceased and within 3 days my broadband speed went from 10mb (kept faulting so DLM drops speed to try and rectify issue) to 63mb (was previously getting 68mb solid) I am very happy with this and I have an engineer coming out today ( previously booked) so he will probably reset my connection and I will hopefully get my previous solid speed back to normal but with a better built shielded cable.

I bought two different lengths, 1m and 2m, which were dispatched from different companies. Both were advertised as Kenable, but the difference in quality was remarkable. The 1m cable, which I did actually buy from Kenable looks like the photo, i.e. moulded plugs, and feels like a nice quality cable. It made no difference to my download speeds though.The 2m cable which I bought from hashsonline, (who presumably were cheaper at the time), looks identical to the cheap thing that was bundled with my modem. The connectors are the sort of thing that you could fit yourself if you bought a kit. Not surprisingly it also made no difference to my download speeds. I doubt that it actually is a Kenable, but if it is beware of their variable quality. I recommend buying this from Kenable only.

Bought this cable in combination with a Vdsl Mk3 cover plate from a recommendation; being at the end of a BT run I was only getting 6Mb max. Once I changed the plate this went up to 7.5Mb, but when the cable arrived the combo of both jumped my speed to 16Mb within a week, which is close to the max on an Adsl2 line. I cannot explain why the combo worked so well for me, but all I can say is the cable helped.

I upgraded the ADSL wiring throughout my house in the hope of getting somewhere near the promised 17Mb line speed. This cable were part of the upgrade, replacing the cheap flat-pair cable supplied with the modem. No noticeable improvement in speed, but that may be nothing to do with this cable. At least the speed is no worse, so they serve the purpose.
