ALWAYS a favorite!
Whether you are in the fire service, a housekeeper needing those aggrivating spring hinge doors to stay propped open or just needing a door to stay open if you are trying to get a breeze through your building without the door slamming shut, this is the PERFECT product. The door stays open at about 80 degrees instead of wide open, but that is fine as sometimes there are objects behind the door that prohibit the door opening 90 degrees or more. The neo magnets on it are STRONG! One or two of the ones that I bought were stiff, either from the holes not lining up right and binding on the hinge pin or the hole was just tight. I fixed this by removing the retaining tension pin from the bottom, placing the Fativan in a vice and SLIGHTLY overdrilling the holes so that they were now in perfect alignment as well as allowing the FatIvan to flip open easily with one hand which is a big help if you are carrying groceries, tools or anything else in your other hand. HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!!

Fat Ivan does the job
They work well. I teach so they prop my door open with out having to fuss with a door stop. The only issue is a janitor messed one up trying to remove it, he pulled the metal hook out of alignment. One was stolen.

Maybe too solid!
This is very solidly made. If you're wondering whether it can hold a large or heavy door open, yes, it definitely can. Be sure to remove it before trying to close the door, because your door would probably lose that fight.I only have two minor notes.First, despite the bright color, it's not always the most visible. On a light colored door and a shiny hinge, the color is less noticeable. Also, if the door has only 2 hinges, it could be installed much higher or lower than eye level. I'm thinking about attaching some kind of "remove before flight" flag as an extra reminder, perhaps to loop around the door handle like a motorcycle lock.Second, there's no adjustment possible. On smaller hinges, you may have trouble inserting it. Or if there's a physical obstruction so the door can't open to at least a full 90. It's great that the wedge is so simple -- all you do is unfold and insert -- but on some doors it would be nice to be able to lock it open at a different angle.Magnets are overrated. I think they're only useful if you have a metal door, and you're always using this on the same door -- in which case, why not just make a proper doorstop? I would have preferred to save a few bucks if they offered one without magnets. A piece of string is more useful: it can serve as a way to hang it on the wall, and also a way to remind people of how the door is propped open. Fortunately, the loop at the top is a great place to tie a string, so they've got you covered. This is a great tool to have in your bag if you ever need to move a lot of gear in buildings which were not designed for moving freight.

Ivan the Wonderful! Fantastic Ivan!
I've only had this doorstop for 24 hours but wish I had had it 4 weeks ago! I just moved into a new house and the garage to kitchen doorway is a 6 inch step up with a door that will not stay open on its own. I started by using a box of cookbooks to hold the door open to unload multiple SUV loads of crap from our former rental to our new house. Lifting the cookbook box back and forth with each trip was annoying and a strain on a body already abused with the exertion of moving so I started using a pancake air compressor with a handle which was a little easier but not great. I finally got fed up with non-doorstop doorstops and decided to buy and actual doorstop. I searched reviews here on Amazon looking for a heavy enough doorstop that was at least 6 inches high and came up with.....not much. Until Ivan. Love this guy! Just clip him over the hinge in the open door and he holds the door open at a nice 90 degree angle. I can now come and go from the garage and not be messing with the door with each trip. There are magnets built into Ivan and, when he's not in use, I just slap him on the side of the washer, right by the door, for next time. So nice!
