Sencoday W11457841 Washer Lid Strike Replacement for Whirlpool Kenmore Washing Machine Door Strike

Every once in awhile the clip on my washer lid will break off. I ordered two of these, one to replace the broken one, and a back up. It is easy to install and keeps the lid locked well. I've had this washing machine for three years and have only needed to replace the clip twice.

Exact fit for my Maytag washer. Feels sturdy maybe even more so than the original.

How they allowed these to be put in a washer is beyond me. The piece at it's thinnest point is about 1/16 of an inch. My son came to tell me the washing machine was broken when he found the latch piece laying in the drum. I bought a pair of these and they work fine and are easy to swap out. Very much worth the money.

Repair part #W11091027.It doesn't come with instructions to replace your old lock, but there are videos on YouTube, and it was super easy and fast. It's been installed for 6 months now, two months longer than the original lock held up after purchasing the washer. It's also a great price.

Overall like the washing machine, the lid latch is a poorly designed annoying safety feature. I don't know why they put a flimsy device in the top center of the lid where it snags clothes constantly. They could have designed this so much better.However, since they have a cheap plastic part poorly positioned where it breaks off easily, at least the replacement is readily available, reasonably priced and easy to install with no tools (or pilers if your grip is not strong enough).BTW: the machine won't run without this part, so a replacement is necessary.
