Great for beginners
If you are new to MS Office, this may be the best book for you. It is an easy read, and has the visualizations to make it simple and interesting to follow. However, if you are moving up from a an earlier version of Office, you will probably want a book that is more in-dept, to do more sophisticated things. I fit in the second category. But, I still enjoy looking through Shoup's book. And it is still very handy at times. Regardless of how adept your are at something, there's always a basic or two you need to brush up on. It's doubtful that most Office users use every program in the suite. Therefore, most people will be a beginner at one or more of the suite's programs. I had a hard time deciding whether to rate this 4 or 5 stars. For experienced Office users, it's a 4. For beginners, it is definitely 5 stars.

Excellent help
This book has a simple, but very thorough format on how to accomplish anything you could want to do in Microsoft Office. It is not complicated to navigate through or understand, and you will find it extremely helpful in upgrading your knowledge and techniques for even the most basic tasks. I spent a lot of time in bookstores looking at books that taught on this subject and to me this one had the easiest format, but also covered all necessary information on each task you would need to perform. The visuals in the book are extremely helpful and simplistic enough for anyone to grasp. It made it much easier to learn about how each step by step instruction really worked. Between the clear cut writing and the visuals this book is a perfect instructional book for anyone seeking to learn more about Microsoft office.I love books that instruct but are easy to follow and thorough. It contains all you need to become a very adept Microsoft Office user as well as covering every facet in the program. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.I highly recommend it.

great quick and easy referance book
This book has a great easy to understand layout. It is consistent and stays true to it's visual concept from begining to end. It was a big help in learning all the Microsoft office 2010 programs. It also makes a quick referance guide when you forget how to do a task. The books only downfall is that there is almost no explaination accompaining each task. If you are one of those people that needs explaination and more info on how and why when performing a task I recommend using "Microsoft Step by Step" there is a different book for each type of Microsoft 2010 program offerings. Then use "Teach Yourself Visually 2010" as a quick reference when you get stuck.

teaches you the ribbon and other functions new with Office 2010
When switching Office version from Office XP to Office 2010 at work, there were a lot of changes. This little book covers them easily. If you are looking for a book to teach you the basics, this is for you. If you want a more in depth version of any of the products, use this as a beginner's manual then get a more detailed manual for the Office Product you want to learn.

very good second reference
I use this in conjunctin with Office 2010 the Missing Manual. The reason is that there are times when no matter how great one book is the second great reference has something relevant on the topic which may have been inadvertantly overlooked. Frankly, I like this book because it contains large print with many color illustrations. It has far fewer pages than the missing manual Office 2010; notwithstanding, it is an excellent companion book--buy them at the same tine--the investment is so small. Teach Yourself VISUALLY Office 2010 (Teach Yourself VISUALLY (Tech))

Love these "Visually" how to books
Love these "Visually" how to books. Have been using them for years. Quick info, detailed "screen shots". Have them for Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, Windows 7, Windows Vista, AND Windows 10 is on order as I write. Actually quicker than surfing through the Office community pages, and other sources looking for answers from other users or surfing the entire Microsoft website looking for an answer to your question(s). GREAT tools! I highly recommend them all.

Visually Office 2010
I am old fashioned and miss receiving an instruction manual or user's guide when I purchase a product. I went from Window's 95 to Windows 7 with Office 2010. A very big change for me. This book was exactly what I needed to help me work with the new programs that I had. I appreciate being able to have something to look at when I am trying to do something with my new computer. It is hard to find information on the internet if you don't know what you are really looking for.

Could I Survive Without It?
I have found TEACH YOURSELF manuals invaluable in understanding past Microsoft Programmes and Office 2010 was proving equally elusive before I made the modest investment in this book. I still have a long way to go but, as ever, am finding it easy to follows at both instruction and references levels.
