Grandmaster recommended chessboard
This chessboard is awesome. It feels like you’re playing on a real tournament board and weight is little heavy but it all adds up if you want the feeling of a grandmaster at your home.Fun to play with friends and family without breaking your wallet. This is a good value for money

Great tourney size board. Bottom not as pictured.
Nice solid tournament size board. Nothing fancy but very good looking for the price. Nice wood grain quality on the position inlays with no imperfections and very smooth over the inlays. Base is solid wood, not MDF or plywood. The bottom of the one I got is unlabeled unlike the one pictured with the GSE brand embossed on the bottom but I don't care about brand labels as long as the business side of the board looks good which this board does for sure.

Very Handsome and Appears to Be Well Made
I bought this on recommendation from a customer who bought some nice looking chess pieces and wanted a better board than the cardboard one that came with that set. I am both pleased with this board and the chess pieces. It looks very nice, well made and finished. I'm not a big enough fan to spend big money, but I also wanted something handsome looking and this combo fits my desires just fine.Because a couple of people commented that their board came damaged, I had no problems with the packaging, but I can see how rough treatment could result in damage. But I'd say that's on whoever handled it, not the manufacturer.

A VERY NICE CHESS BOARD
I grabbed one of these for my collection. As the owner of many chess boards - almost all more expensive - I can say without doubt for the price THIS ONE is a Steal. You won't have to apologize to anyone presenting this board to play a game on. Its shade provides a very accommodating stage for a variety of chessmen colors, its smooth surface makes moving pieces effortless. I recommend this 👌.

Great for teaching my grandson.
The GSE Professional Tournament Chess Board is a high-quality, durable chess board that is perfect for both beginners and experienced players. The board is made of maple and sapele wood, which is smooth and provides a good grip for the pieces. The squares are inlaid with black and white wood, making it easy to distinguish between the two sides. The board also has number and letter algebraic coordinates adorn the borders, which is helpful for keeping track of the game and teaching my grandson. The bottom of the chessboard has four felt-pad feet for protection of both the board and your own furniture.Overall, the GSE Professional Tournament Chess Board is a great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality, durable chess board. Poor packaging for such a beautiful board.
Two corners were dinged-up like the pkg. had been dropped. It would seem to me that the shipping pkg. needs to be reinforced around all four corners. After repairing the two damaged corners,of course it may have been damaged before shipping to me, I am pleased.

Tournament sized, solid wood chess board.
Very nice looking board, solid construction and a joy to use. Bought this board to teach my grandson the basics and this board makes it easier to see the whole board, especially when there are open files on the diagonals.

Sturdy, good quality, factory-made board
My eight year old son had an "all in one" game set that included chess piece symbols on the backs of checkers. That was frustrating to play on, so my aunt got him this chess board and a set of chess pieces for Christmas. This board is a pleasure to play on! For a new player, the board notation is definitely a plus. This board is nice to look at, and it is heavy enough to be a nice, stable playing surface. As far as the woodworking itself, I would say that this is a heavy, high quality, mass-produced board that will last you many years. It is not, however, a "fine" or "handmade" board, if you understand me. The letters and numbers are painted on, and I don't like the edge treatment on the bottom. You will have to spend more to get a fancy handmade work of art to play on.
