I bought this because I found a pretty decent sized diamond that passed all the other tests. I was getting my hopes up that I actually found like a two carat solitaire that must have broken free from its ring. I tried every test on the internet that doesn't require an expert or this type of device. I broke down and bought this extremely inexpensive tester. It showed up in the mail and I put the battery in and headed right for that rock. Follow the calibration procedure and zap. Fake diamond. I couldn't believe that this inexpensive thing told me my rock was fake. So I tried it on a real diamond and that it tested as real. I tried it on lots of different real diamonds. All real. Went back to my stone and gave me just three bars. It was well worth the money and I couldn't believe that this thing worked so well. I will keep this for as long as it keeps working.

Just fine. I wanted to confirm a couple pieces of jewelry I purchased were indeed diamond and not moissanite. I didn't realize you can't differentiate between the two with this tool. I suppose that is my fault for not doing more research. Just be aware that if you are trying to differentiate between a diamond and a moissanite, this is not the tool to do it.

I had a great time learning how to use this inexpensive tool. This is another must have for the bargain hunter who wants to know what they are looking at. So easy to use a man can even do it. Assuming he reads the directions.
