Solid door and good size
I have a Boston Terrier (30lbs, about 11 or 12 inches tall) and this door is perfect. I had ordered a few other brands in the past and the ones they recommended for her size were always small, hard to install, and didn't have much sturdiness to them. This one is the best I've used by far and she actually trusts going in and out with no apprehension.Assembly isn't hard, but if you use "pet proof" screen on your door, then the clip on feature (to align before using the bolts) doesn't work well because the screen is made to not allow punctures. That was my only issue, but I simply aligned it, used a sharp pointed object to set the bolt hole, put in the bolts, then worked on gently sealing the gate onto the screen. Finished it up by tightening the bolts and it's been super sturdy since the install. The other item I like is that the bolts you use don't protrude out and snag on anything (other sliding door parts or people), which is nice. The clips to lock the door work fine for my dog as well so the door overall is pretty seamless to the existing slider. The only item I would consider a concern is the long term durability of the screen that is placed in the footprint cutout in the door. My dog doesn't scratch at it very hard and while she learned to use it there have been only light paw pushes on that middle area, but I can see it bulging a bit here and there. Will keep an eye on that over time as it doesn't look like it's ripping or anything, but I'd expect that to stay a bit more taut since it's the designated push location for the dog.Overall, great product so far and worth the money!

Still holding up!
I was surprised at how easy it was to put this on my screen door. The screws were pretty small, but other than that they lined up well with the second side and the nut that came with it. I was even more surprised to realize that with having four boxer dogs zipping in and out through the pet door, that now a year and a half later, the door is still doing great! My older dog took a little bit of time learning to go through the door. At first, I just kept the flap off. Later, I added it on, and would lift the flap for her to go through and let the flap lay on her back as she passed. The younger dogs picked it up right away!I do recommend this product. I actually purchased two. One for each screen door.

A Good Screen Dog Door at Last !
I have been endlessly closing a sliding screen door for my Aussie for several summers and have looked into several solutions for some kind of opening that she could do herself. None were going to work for my set up for various reasons. Recently I noticed this item--looked straightforward and not expensive so worth a try. The only problem I had installing it was because my screen is heavy 'pet proof' mesh which did not allow for assembly per directions. I ended up putting all the screes in position and holding them there with masking tape bits on their heads. Then I laid the pet door down with screws up, and then laid my screen door on top of that. I positioned the dog door and using an awl was able to open the sliding screen door mesh so that the screws could pierce through. I went around and did all the screws, that lifted the sliding screen door up so I could screw on the nuts. This worked very well. I went around and finally really tightened all the nuts and then cut the opening per directions. Getting the flap installed took a bit of doing to 'bend' it enough to seat properly but I got it after several tries. My dog quickly learned how to use it. One tip--measure carefully how high off the bottom of your screen door you want the dog door bottom to be. Too low and your dog may have to 'duck' to get through and too high she may need to jump through which would probably strain things over time. My 38 lb Aussie is in the large size which is fine but I certainly wouldn't want the smaller size door. I have my door set a little over 6" bottom of screen door to bottom of dog door. This door also looks good--simple and straight forward. I had looked at another style that does alot of advertising and is more expensive and just looked clunky to me. This one does the job! Hope this helps someone :)

Great product, not great directions
its a great product, looks just like the picture and video. I will be giving it 4 stars due to the lack of directions. Even after watching the video of the Ownpets Dog Screen Door and reading the directions, it was very difficult to figure out which side went in where. I am pretty handy when it comes to putting things together; this was not easy for me. I have a screen for dogs, which is thicker. I could not connect the two sides, I had to use the screws to hold them together because I could not do it any other way. After spending over an hour to get this up, I finally got it done. The dog liked it and got the hang of it right away. suggestion cut the screen with a blade if you have a thicker screen, I cut it with scissors and it was a mess.

Easy Solution for Doggy Door
This is an excellent choice if you're looking for an easy-to-install doggy door. Installation was a breeze, and the door fits securely without drilling or altering your home.We have medium-sized and larger dogs, and they use it without issues. It took them about a week to get the hang of it, but with some encouragement and treats, they now use it confidently. It fits right into your screen. The convenience this door provides is unmatched. It has made letting the dogs in and out so much easier, and it's a fantastic solution for renters or anyone not ready to commit to a permanent pet door. Highly recommended for pet owners looking for a simple, effective, non-invasive option!

Love this doggy door!
Love this doggy door! It’s super easy to install and has been up for almost a year already and doing great. Only thing is to make sure the washers are on very tight because they will start to loosen and fall off. Other than that, I’ve never had an issue and would recommend!
