Simple and accurate enough for what it is. I test the accuracy by comparing readings on vinegar vs lemon juice because those are alreasy well established online. These showed they were both about right color wise.Remember to check them right away after getting wet.If you need exact readings then get an expensive meter. For creating a pickle for animal hides it worked great. I successfully preserved a few small game furs in a pickle using this to monitor the PH.

The 3 pH strips shown in the photo were diluted vinegar, dilute sodium hydroxide and diluted sulfuric acid. The pHs seemed accurate at 3,13+, and 0 respectively. I also have some mid range strips from same company that measure pH 5-8 which I plan for buffers. These strips cover a wider range and will help me manage acidic or alkaline waste.

The litmus paper works well enough for an accuracy of one order of magnitude and the colors resulting from use are very good matches to the colored indicator label within the plastic holder. You need to protect it very strongly from humidity or your readings will be messed up. I like to photograph the used litmus paper against the colored indicator label for a second data record (the first being the actual pH value written into a notebook); however, the plastic container is so reflective that if you use it in a dark enough location that your camera will trigger a flash, the flash will reflect off the container and wash out the color image unless you are careful about angle of attack - very, very careful.

I was very satisfied with this product.I use a pair of hemostats to hold a piece of the strip. When I’m done I rinse, dry and put a new strip on the clip for the next day.I also purchased a brand that was individual strips on a plastic stick and another that was like a match book style. Neither of those recent 2 worked as well as the Hydrion.Hopefully this batch will be as good as it was before.

Less waste and more convenient than booklets of tear off strips, been using this exact product for years, feed the tape through the side then tape it shut to keep it from coming open in your pocket or when you drop it. Pull up against the protruding tab to easily tear off however much you need while leaving a pigtail for next time.I tape a strip of bright ribbon to it to make it easier to find amid the clutter on my desk or wherever I absentmindedly leave it.For the sake of consistency, I dip an inert toothpick sized piece of plastic into the solution and put barely a drop on the tape, also minimizes waste in the long run.

I hesitated to buy this product because of bad reviews, saying the paper came green in humid climates. I am getting into taxidermy and need to be able to test my tanning solution to know if it will be suitable for pelt preservation. At first I was upset, I live in Florida and of course the entire roll came in green. However, the strips still work. I dipped a strip in milk, and it showed a reading of 7. I then dipped a strip in the acid I use to mix my pickle for the pelts, and it immediately turned bright red for “0”. Overall I am very pleased these strips still work. I will be keeping them in a ziplock bag with some rice for added moisture protection, but otherwise this product works fine.

I tested distilled, RO and well water and this tape showed all of them at 6 pH. I know our well water is over 8 and the distilled is 7 but the tape would only turn the one color for 6. Very disappointing.
