Perfect color match to Magpul Flat Dark Earth.
The can says Earth Brown. And the lids shows a brown. Whoever called this brown must be color blind. This is an exact match to my Magpul for a Mossberg Flat dark Earth forend. Very happy with thew color match and the results. Very nice finish and very durable.

Shake well, and when you think your done shake it again
This stuff isnt like your normal spray can, be sure to shake ALOT. hold upside down and spray till nothing comes out when done applying, and remove the cap and soak in alchohol before next use. ive made a custom shaker just for these cans as i use them quite often. dare i say this is the most durable spray finish you can get in a can. apply from about 12-16 inches away. if metal, bake at 300 for 45 minutes for a quick cure, plastics i tend to do at 175 for 3 hours, stuff works and applies pretty thick would not recommend if you're coating precise parts, other wise it does the job for all else. you have about 30 minutes to do the job, if not done in that time. bake, cure, and apply a second coat.if you get an inconsistent finish, thats not because of the coating, that is because you didnt shake the can enough. this is epoxy, its not like your normal spray cans you cant shake it for just a minute and expect decent results. spray nozzles may get clogged from time to time i use beadery wire to clear the nozzles when im done coating, and then soak in alcohol. hopes this helps.

Nozzle was pre-clogged then heavy spatter
This is my second attempt with this product and have now ruined two work pieces. I have had great results with cerakote and have experience with coatings. I followed all directions per the can and even set the items outside in the sun to heat up. I shook the can for about 5 minutes. The nozzle was clogged before I even got to spray anything. I unclogged the nozzle and would get about 2 seconds of clean spray then heavy spatter. It looked like spray cheese blowing out. I was using the black to refinish an old Lee enfield rifle (all the proper prep was performed). I could then turn the can upside down to clear the nozzle and it would blow chunks out then clear. I would then attempt to spray again and it would be the same result; one second of clean spray then heavy spatter. It looks like I painted this rifle with road tar. I will wait until this cures then sand all of it off and use a different product. I am absolutely disappointed in this product and will not be using it again. The date code on the can was approximately one month from the day of this review so shelf life did not expire. I do with that this was a better product as the clean spray parts did turn out well. Avoid this headache and find another product. This is like snake oil where it seems so simple to use but you will be disappointed.

Durable finish
Followed instructions and had great results. This was used on a revolver cylinder and a barrel both seem to be holding up well so far with good appearance

It works, but...
I've used this stuff on a few guns, and when it works, it works great. This last time it worked perfect while I was at work on an 870. I gave it a few hours dry time, it felt dry, and foolishly I layed the receiver and barrel on my truck seat and drove home. It wasn't dry enough evidently and left a fabric mark in the paint. So I wait 30 days for it to cure, hit it with some fine sandpaper, and shoot it again. The paint had clogged the can up. In frustration, a few days later I try it again, and the can worked. I was just finishing up and got a splatter, 30 days wait time again before sanding out. This time I put regular camo paint over the top of it. The base coat is Aluma-Hyde, which is very durable, and that is where I left it at. Some of this was my fault, so no complaints, and I'd do it again as this stuff is good.

Same color as magpul fde just about, color looks identical to ceracoat fde
The spray cap that comes with these is horrible,i used the black or red montana caligraphy caps to get it to lay properly without runs,i figured it out when i switched caps with a older bottle of duracoat spraypaint. I can't stress it enough, the cap that comes with these cans are worthless and will just mess up whatever you are painting. Also heat up thr can with hot water or a blow drier before using fo best results. This stuff is the same color as Magpul FDE just about and is very scratch resistant. It also takes a long time to dry especially if u give it more than just a light coat .very thick paint so go easy with it

excellent product if you follow these steps.
for anyone using alumi hyde, I'm gonna tell you straight so you don't have problems while using, Some of the tips provided on the cans are no good for the word go, Buy a premium tip off amazon and this stuff will spray smooth and clean as a spray paint, you must shake can for around 1 minute and follow through on all passes don't stop in the middle of a pass, spray the tight corners first, the finish will come out beautifully. to prep the piece, I simply wash in ultra hot water with dish soap & green scotch bright so long as im not faced with a lot of oil, if you have oil get a brake cleaner to clean piece.. good luck
