The first unit did not work at all. I ordered a replacement and it was the same story.It was clear that the "button" was simply not working. I decided to pull the upper shell off the unit and examine the cuircit.The so called button was simply a spring that extended from the circuit board to the top shell. Touching the spring caused the unit to power on properly(like a capacitive touch lamp). It seemed that the spring just wasn't reaching far enough into the housing to get the touch effect. I stretched the spring out by a few millimeters and replaced the cover.The unit worked right away after that.The stroboscopic effect is pretty impressive. The only way to defeat the illusion is to literally shine a flashlight into the stream. If it only knew what frequency the light was pulsing at... I would love to duplicate the effect on a waterfall.The humidifier feature works as well, but I'm not really that interested in it. You can disable it by placing something small(a pencil eraser worked here) on the metal plate on the metal place on top to stop the steam inducing vibrations.It would be nice if the unit had a simple mode switch to turn the humidifier off. It currently cycles between all on and all on except the light... Adding another mode to disable the humidifier would be nice.Because of the issues I had with the power button, it would actually be less error prone if they would just add a physical switch to the unit. Capacitive switches are neat, but they have no feedback of any kind and sort of drive me crazy in real life use.

Wonderful and beautiful product. I got it for my fiancée for Christmas and she loved it. Unfortunately it broke within a couple weeks and there is not manufacture info to even report to try and resolve the issue.
