Is the bowl a flat- bottom Bowl

No, more like a typical bowl shape with. Five inch diameter flat piece attached to bottom. I’ve gone through more mixer units in my in my 57 years on this earth, and Hamilton Beach got this design correct. Perfect size!!!!!

No I replaced it also because my kitchen aid was too heavy. I can easily pick this up and move it.

Does the whisk come close enough to the bottom of the mixing vessel?

Same distance as Kitchenaid. This mixer works just as well al my Kitchenaid. This mixer isn’t as heavy and has a handle for moving more easily
