I believe it will be well worth getting this second Q7XS for Training g-kids and friends.
Yesโฆ it's LightBlue, feels very light ( compared to my old JR XP 9303a) and the grips make it great to hold, the gimbals are very smooth and you can easily charge the battery without removing it.It was set properly for Mode 2 with auto-centered right stick and a free floating left stick. Its got Open Tx and Bootloader versions 2.2.2 installed. Has a nice About Page I'd not seen before on my Carbon Fiber Q7SX. It doesn't appear to have the Lua Script that can AUTO configure different basic model types like Plane, quadcopter, or Delta wing.. but that script is easily added as I plan to flash it with the newer Open Tx 2.2.3 soon.So far it is exactly as advertised here and all that I'd hoped for. By the way, the only reason I got a second one is I couldn't confirm the wireless training option is shipping in the other Taranis-Lite or newer Q7X non-S models.Only big down side for me is getting up to speed on OpenTX programming. There are lots on YT vids and the Open Companion app and OpenTXU helps learning it a lot. But, even with the great tutorials it can be daunting if you start adding the fancy programming needed to mix in the dozens of options that are now possible. I'm using my old ASSAN JR modules in it, and they are already pre-bound to my plane's receivers and they seem to work with the OpenTX Inputs and Mixer OUTPUTS fine Learning the new telemetry and fancy options on top of all that is a never ending Adventure I know nothing about except that itโs all possible to do with these Taranis X7/ X7S radio. Hope this helps.. JimS

Gotta have it if youre new to this stuff!
My favorite radio kit yet. I mean really? Protective case to carry in a backpack, case carries charger for the included battery without having to remove the battery from the radio! Score. There is more though. Gimbal guards included in case your stuff gets roughed up at the airport. more. Hall effect sensors with no direct contact gimbals? This means no friction wear on the gimbals signal source. Brilliant! More. Open Tx Upgrade-able firmware free of charge when new features come out! WTF? More. My JR, crossfire, whatever Module snaps right into the back for multiprotocol transmitter? So if I buy a model from a buddy with a receiver different than my norm, I can talk to it too! Thanks to Blue Falcon Project on you tube for showing me how to master this transmitter!I don't work for them. I'm not sponsored by them. I just love this unit and it has never let me down. Hope this helps! Happy flying!

Cheaply made
Cheaply made sums it up. The black 'grips' on the side are peeling up on the edges, right our of the box. The on/off button gets stuck under the frame, so when you release the button it jams in the depressed position. Thus cycling on/off. Firmware needed to be upgraded out of the box. AND it does not even come with a charging cable for the price.

There are two Qx7s transmtters. Be careful.
I bought this transmitter thinking the Qx7s would have ACCST and ACCESS compatibility. It turns out this was only an ACCST version and not ACCESS compatible. The ACCESS version is a transmitter that allows you to use the ACCESS RF setting with several enhanced features and works with the latest receivers sold by Aloft. The ACCESS version can also use the D16 RF setting with more limited features. This Qx7s ACCST version uses the D16 RF settings and older RF types. I will use this Qx7s ACCST version but wanted to be ACCESS compatible with programing my friends use. So take care the descriptions of adds for this transmitter were not detailed enough for a newbie to Aloft radio gear to avoid this mistake. I did buy the ACCESS version as well. This ACCST receiver is useful and good quality just not as advanced as the ACCESS one. That is why I rated it a 3 rather than a higher rating.

Its a Tarranis! Which means tough tech support and shady included.
Mid level RC transmitter. Mainly used by the drone racing community. The main feature that attracted me to it is the upgraded gimbals. It makes my sticks feel sooo good. Ohh so so good. That sounded like a naughty description. I like to be naughty. Lol..Just the way i like it.Now for the Sad Part: a love letter for Tarannis.Dear Tarannis, please do not strong arm your competition which is a attack to our community by using your market value as a crutch from advancing this technology.. lets face it; this tech hasn't advanced much in 10 years. Which is fawking cray cray considering the pace of this hobbies technology leaps.โAccessโ protocol is an attempt by Terranis and openTX to have a monopoly on transmitter development. Smh.I love this transmitter. Its a shame its being ran by capitalist pigs. Please I reach out to the sensibilities of your good reputation.I hope for the best while i speak my blurry version of what I think is the truth.. and no i cant handle it ๐ฏ๐ง๐ฒ๐๐ญ
