Violin Harp Tailpiece Rosewood Built in Light Tuners Semi Hill 4/4 Brown, Full (75)

I purchased a cheap $120 electric violin on Amazon with the intentions only replacing the strings and bow out. In the process of exchanging the strings, the original tailpiece would not fit on my dominant/ pirastro strings. So I replaced the cheaper tailpiece with this one. This one was able to fit my strings no problem, but the fine tuners are just too close to one another. It is not a big deal since I am able to just use the pegs for tuning. It was an easy install! This did not include a tailgut and so I did have to use the one from the original. For the price I think it is decent. If you are looking for a real upgrade for a more expensive violin, this isn't it. This is great for a cheaper violin. It makes it look a little more high end!

This tailpiece looks gorgeous, but frankly it's not worth getting with the built-in fine tuners. First of all, you will definitely need to spread apart the forks that hold the ball-end of the string in order to get them to fit - For curiosity sake I tried three different string manufacturers and none of them fit fresh. Second, the fine tuner adjusters are too close together for you to realistically be able to adjust with one hand while bowing at the same time. You cannot comfortably get a grip on it. Recommend getting the version of this that has no built in tuners.

Takes a while to get use to the sound, Makes the violin ring more and longer when I hit the last note the violin is still be ringing after I set it down. Kinda spooky but I love it.

Fine tuners didn’t work.

It looks fine. Buyer we warned- this shipped without a sacconi. I haven't yet put this on an instrument but I will, soon as I order and receive a new sacconi!

Dong know how sturdy this is, or meant for loop ended string, because ball popped out as tension in tuning was applies.Maybe meant for strings loop to hook around tuner end?
