Great improvement. I love it.
The media could not be loaded. I have been using the Pro 2 for three years now. I scan big buildings (10K to 60K SqFt). I bought the Pro 3 one month ago and It is really a great improvement. Much faster and more accurate. The fact that you can scan the exteriors is awesome. The design is pretty nice. I don't like that it has a little lid to cover the lens because when you take it off, it does not stick to the camera so it is easy to lose. Also, the cover should have space to put the battery so you can store the camera without the battery on (as recommended by Matterport). But those are just some minor design suggestions.I will keep trying it and update if I found any downsides, but so far a love it.

Expensive but amazing
A great quality camera. The size is perfect and unlike the Pro2, much quieter. Just an amazing camera.

Unexpected Noise: My Surprising Experience with my New Matterport Pro 3 Camera
The media could not be loaded. As a longstanding advocate and user of Matterport products, my recent investment in the Pro 2 and Pro 3 models underscores my commitment to their technology. However, I have encountered a concern regarding the Pro 3 model that I wish to address. Upon usage, I noticed that the camera operates with a noise level that is noticeably higher than anticipated. This observation stands in contrast to other demonstrations of the same model, where the camera appeared to function more quietly. In light of this discrepancy, I am seeking clarification: Is the noise level I am experiencing typical for the Pro 3 model, or does it indicate a potential issue that requires attention and resolution? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Good data. Glitchy functionality.
My firm has been using Matterport cameras for several years now, and invested in the Pro3 setup due to our need for point cloud data. Comparing the Pro2 and Pro3 cameras, the 2 seems easier to use in the field, as stitching is smoother. The Pro3 has caused hours of delays due inability to align scans when passing through doorways and inside to outside. The ability to manually align scans in the field would be a HUGE help (and frankly is something that Matterport's competitors allow). There are also some app glitches that need to be addressed. Our staff that uses Android devices experiences an issue when their screen rotates, which causes scan alignment to fail. We've only had the Pro3 for a couple weeks and haven't used it yet on an iOS device. The point cloud data looks solid so far. Very good for the price point. Note that you're captive on the Matterport platform and rcp and other point cloud files are only available via separate purchase after your scans have been processed.Summary - if you need point cloud data in small to medium spaces then the Pro3 is for you (your next best option is the Leica BLK360 at 3x the price.) If all you're looking for is a virtual tour and you don't need point cloud data, research other options, as there are several less expensive Matterport solutions and tons of competitors in the sub $3,000 price range.
