Quality without the high price.
What's not to love, bought this as always gift for someone after buying and using mine for 6 months or so.Looks:It is presented in a hard black plastic case which is more than adequate for keeping the razor protected. There is a small mirror on the inside of the box as well as a very handy recess under where the razor sits where a box of 5 Astra razor blades sits perfectly. The razor looks classy and simple. Personal preference for me was the silver colour but in all honesty, they both look very nice. Simple yet elegant.Use:I'd never used a safety razor like this before, I found it incredibly easy to use. Once you have it in your head that you don't need to apply pressure when shaving (compared to cassette multi blade razors). Doesn't take long to get a feel how is best to shave your own face. Not too heavy or too light. Conclusion: As a complete new person to safety razors, I was not sure if this would be a quality product, especially given the price I paid for it. I openly admit that my reservations were unfounded. I've had no issues with the product and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. I think the fact I've bought one as a present says it all really! Very happy with the product.

Ditch your cartridge razors and get one of these!!!!!!!
So I decided to up my shaving game.I'm not gonna lie and pretend I'm part of the 'less plastic' movement. No, I bought this because I'm now saving an absolute fortune on blades.Guys, I'll be honest, you have to learn to shave all over again. But after 4 or 5 shaves, you get the hang of it.I shave 2-3 times a week and sure, at first I nicked my neck several times. Two weeks later, I'm doing okay.Things I will suggest though. You need to ditch your cans of shaving foam/gel. Shaving with a DE Safety Razor takes more time and those products your used to dry your skin out before your done. You need to buy some proper shaving cream, a shave brush and a shaving bowl.Yes, it's an investment, but these items, including the razor, blades, cream, brush and bowl can be bought for around £50 if you shop savvy.Once you're set, the razor will last years, the cream, easily 6-8 months (I use Taylors Of Bond Street 150g) and the brush and bowl cost pennies to replace.Blades are ridiculously cheap.I bought 200 off a well known auction site for £20 brand new. They will last me easily over 18 months. It's a no brainer.I cannot tell you if this is the perfect DE Razor as I've only just started my new shaving regime.I can say it's very nice, easy to use and easily travel ready as it has a case and pocket mirror included.I'm 36 and I'm shaving like our grandads did. They knew how to groom.Closest and most comfortable shave you'll ever get.And your skin will improve. No razor burn, no ingrown hairs.

Smooth shave and great value for money.
I've happily shaved with DE saftey razors for nearly 2 years now and unfortunately dropped and broke the head on mine 2 days before going away on holiday and couldn't get a replacement in time so ordered this one as a temporary measure. It's very easy to use and very forgiving to shave with. No nicks, no cuts, no drama just a nice, close, smooth shave. I use the Astra superior platinum blades (after testing lots of other brands) and they work brilliantly with this razor and last easily for 6 to 8 shaves. My only niggles are it's not quite as precise as I would like and it's quite small for large hands. I'm use to a larger, more aggressive Parker 98r barber pole (which is a brilliant razor). However, I am impressed with this one and will be keeping it as my travel/ back up razor but if it's your 1st razor it's a brilliant choice, great value for money and a great place to start your DE safety razor shaving journey.

A great Father's Day gift or everyday razor! Just remember to get good blades!
I personally prefer the cheaper model (B01 i think) that is not butterfly opening however this version does have it's merits. It is far easier to swap out the blades and it does have a bit more weight to it.The case is a very tight fit and sometimes pops open if it gets knocked but is otherwise very useful. Due to the opening system, the top is quite curved. I prefer the flatter top of the B01 however I think that this is personal preference. The item itself is very good quality - sturdy and tough - and feels like it will last a very long time with normal use. I pair it with Shark DE blades which are cheap but good - if you wanted sharper blades I'd recommend Feathers and if you are just starting out Derby blades have a very good following. If possible, get a tester pack of DE blades with a range of different brands to try out the blades - as the cutting edge of the razor they do make a massive difference and all have slightly different characteristics. DE blades are always far cheaper than cartridges and will save you money in the long run

Well built razor giving a smooth and safe shave.
I bought this to replace another branded razor that the screw sheared off after only a few months use. This razor seems of much better build quality and as it is a butterfly design where the two 'wings' of the razor head open by turning the end of the shaft. This makes replacing the blade much less fiddly. The razor is well balanced and a good weight in the hand. Previously on getting a new safety razor I have had a few nicks until I was used to the feel of it. This one seems to naturally fall into a good position and I haven't cut myself with it yet even though it gives a closer shave than my previous one.It comes in a handy case in which the razor is held snuggly but with room for a carton of spare blades. The case also features a mirror that doesn't seem to fog making it an ideal razor to travel with. The case is nice and secure closing with a satisfying click. For the money you can't go wrong with this razor.
