I wanted a simple magnifying device to see the birds better in the garden. I have got binoculars, but my eyesight is very different in my two eyes, and it takes a while to focus properly with binoculars, so thought this would solve the problem, as only one eye is used, so easy to focus.This comes in a box, and inside a case with the monocular in. There are no lens covers on the unit which is a shame. Focusing is simple, just turn the large dial at the back for sharpening the image. There is also a smaller dial at the front, which to me seems to to exactly the same.The one at the back will need another hand to turn, but the front one can just about be turned one handed. I have found that I can focus quicker with this than binoculars, it is smaller to carry and lighter.I really like this product, and for the price paid, think it is a good value item.

For the money not bad at all. I'm not into heavy weight spotting so these are just fine, relatively clear and easy to use.I would buy again...although the build quality is not 100% on mine. I noticed the focus ring was slightly mis-shaped. But for the money good enough, if I wanted 100% it would have cost 100X more.This would suit kids, holidays and sports events...cheap as chips so if you left it on the beach.

Well this isn't 16x - more like 8x when I compare with other binoculars I have and it isn't 52mm objective, it's 40mm. The resolution was poor and I could only get about the middle 3rd to focus at any one time. The brightness, when compared to looking through one eye of a Nikon binocular, was similar to a 25mm objective at 8x, so there was either some stopping down or poor prism / coatings, or both. There was one focusing ring that was a coarse one and a smaller one that was a fine focus, which was good but to get to both ends of the focusing range you had to move them both.I know this is very cheap and I shouldn't complain, but for me it wasn't good enough. I was after at least 10x and brighter than a 25mm objective, so sent it back.

Got this monocular mainly for my son, but I find it to be a handy little way to view birds and other nature in the creek valley near us. I cannot really vouch for its night vision claims. But I do find it to be a good little eyepiece with good magnification for the casual long-range viewing I do.

Pretty good little monocular. I will say that if you're using it on cold mornings condensation can build up on the inside of the lenses that makes it unusable until it clears.

Seems ok for what i need (Archery) focusing is a little stiff but I'm sure it will loosen over time hence 4 stars.

Very handy to keep around and works well for what it is.
