the interfacing is certainly suitable as it is both strong and stable and very reasonable id try some on an old tshirt and see what happens

Hi, Personally I think this particular item of ours is too stiff for this purpose. You would be better off with either our soft handle medium interfacing, stretch jersey interfacing, or woven interfacing (medium or light). This product is better suited to craft applications such as applique or bag making.

Q: could I use this as interfacing for a ladies velvet waistcoat (vest) I am making or would it be too heavy?

As seamstress I wouldn't use fusible interfacing on velvet as it needs to be press with damp cloth I would you a medium weight vilene interfacing

I would recommend a handwash. Only because I think a machine wash would agitate too much. What has it been applied to? If its stitched as well as ironed, a machine wash on delicate would probably be OK (i.e. like Dee below who used it on a collar).
