Disappointing E6 album
Okay, let me be the first to say that this is my own view of the latest E6 record and I'm not interested in people shooting me down for the rating.Having a year break from the previous Electric Six record which I really enjoyed (Heartbeats and Brainwaves) I was really looking forward to listening what the band were going to release next, we had the live album in 2012 and they were busy touring the UK throughout 2013 whilst working on Mustang.I have to say, this is my least favourite Electric Six album, I'm not 100% sure what's gone wrong for me with this one, but it really doesn't compare to the 2011 studio album or any other one before it for that matter, I feel this is the result of album fatigue possibly. It doesn't seem clear what direction the band took with this album but I just don't find it appealing to listen to and it's mostly made up of nonsense and almost takes itself even less seriously than previous efforts to the point where it is nowhere near as cleverly written as those catchy E6 albums that proceed this one.Previously my least favourite album of Electric Six's was Zodiac but this one takes the new crown as the least catchy and least likable in my opinion. This is not to say there aren't decent tracks on this album, New Shampoo and Cheryl vs Daryl are probably the most likable out of the bunch but everything else just feels like an off cut, ideas picked up from the studio floor and thrown together to see if it'll stick.I honestly feel the band excel at electric synth sounds and perhaps this has tried a more funk approach with very mixed results, I'm not saying the band should stick to one sound but the music on this album isn't their finest hour.

It took a while to get into , like many E6 albums, and indeed, all the best albums ever, but worth the effort! This is going down as one of the good ones.Adam Levine sticks out as a goodun from the start, but soon others really start to grow on you! Some didn't like the electric vibe of their last studio album Heartbeats and Brainwaves, and if you're one of those then get this one because it's a return to heaviness =DAnother awesome album from the worlds best* and most prolific** band.*My opinion**Probably true!

The old six are back
This album rocks. It has a great blend of tracks but it all feels so familiar. On my first initial playing of the album, I thought I had heard most of these tunes before, but in fact, the albumis just that good that it blends in real well with their earlier tracks. For me, It was easy listening, and I dont have that "Listen a few times to get into it" kind of thing going on at all. This is instant likeability going on here and its a huge "must buy" for Electric Six fans.Seriously, buy the album, or i'll call round to yours with a bottle of 409 !! You been warned ;)

EXCELLENT
I defiantly recommend this album. Year after year they constantly bring out great tunes. Also new guitarist bringing some clean new sound. not that there was anything wrong before mind.
