A very lightweight and versatile blower or extractor fan for your rooflight but the electrics need more thought
I bought the Flamma turbofan kit to use as an extractor due to the smoke alarm constantly going off when cooking steaks or bacon in my motorhome. The kit provides four metal brackets to screw into the rooflight frame. The fan is very lightweight and has four extenable legs which hook onto the brackets and slide in and out to allow for different rooflight sizes. Even on high the fan does not exactly blow a gale through your vehicle but will provide reasonable air movement. It is very easy to install, sits very nicely, is very quiet in operation and there is no vibration or rattling. However (at least on my vehicle) the rooflight will need to be open for there to be depth to fit the fan so it will be necessary remove the fan before driving away. (It would probably fall off anyway!). It can also be used as a free standing fan or hooked over cupboard handles etc.It can be powered with 8 Nos of D batteries (which add greatly to the weight), from a 12 volt lighter socket or hard wired into the 12v vehicle circuit using the cables provided. The power cords are not designed to be permenantly attached and plugs into a socket on the fan. There is a off low and high speed switch. The adaptor plug of the 12 v cable that is designed to be hard wired into the 12v circuit comes apart and by reversing the two little pins, the polarity can be reversed and the fan made to work as either an extractor or a blower. This only works if you use the adapter on the canle which is designed to be hard wired into the 12v circuit. It does not work with the batteries or with the 12v lighter socket cable. With these the fan can only be used on blow. Surely a little switch could have been included to allow the polarity to be changed for all power modes? I managed to overcome this for the 12v lighter socket cable by soldering a small female socket purchased from Maplin onto the end of the 12v circuit cable and plugging the lighter socket cable into this.I have not used it in anger yet but it is very lightweight and versatile and seems to be a good piece of kit - now if only they could have sorted out the electrics a little better it would have rated 5 stars.

Received safely, and installed with slight adaptions. works well, but yet to be used seriously.
