This worked well to hold our dog while we were at the beach. It held well in the sand and was easy to screw in using the straight piece that threads through the loop at the top making it easier to screw the stake deep into the ground. We bought a long lead to attach to it so she could have a bit of leeway to move. Like the orange color so people see it better and don't trip. Also like that it has its own zipper travel bag to keep things clean and the pointy stake isn't poking in of our travel bags.

My rescue dog is blind, fearful, and has learned that there are dogs on the other side of my neighbor and I'd shared fenceline. When they barked or made noise, mine would fly into a reactive tizzy, trying to 'find' the other dogs at the fence line or charging it at full speed. We're using a tether in conjunction with training (rewarding calm while outside) to keep him from being able to charge the fence. This stake works great! It's sturdy and more than enough for my 30lbs dog in soft FL sand/dirt.Also, for anyone tethering your dog, please make sure you are clipping it to a HARNESS rather than their collar. If they run at full speed and the tether breaks their momentum, that pressure on the neck can cause serious injury.

Yes this is costly and there are lots of cheaper ones out there. But the sheer weight, heft, and security of this one is SOOO much better than the cheapies. Now that I have used this, I will never go back to trusting my buddy tied to one of those thin bargain ones. This one bores down into the earth VERY securely and has a nice handle lever thing to easily twist it into the ground so it does not hurt your hand at all...makes a big difference getting it way down in the ground. Thick and solid as a tank. It IS worth the price! And feels like it will last decades.

This is my second purchase of the tie out stake in 2 months. I originally purchased one to try on my 100 lb. dog. It worked so well that I had to have another one for my 130 lb. dog. This is exceptionally well built and easy to install and stays in the ground well. Although I don't need to take it on the go, it would be very easy to remove and comes with a carrying bag, bar to help screw it in (I definitely needed this), and a brush to clean off excess dirt. The ring on the stake is sturdy and swivels to accommodate movement and avoid the tie out getting tangled. Highly recommend!

worlds better than those dumb grocery store anchors. very sturdy once installed and neatly low profile. but the installation is difficult or i just have a parking lot for a back yard. really really good anchor, my only complaint is the carabiner clip for the tie out cable is basically useless. it somehow comes undone and my dogs get out. they dont stay on the cable all day but still manage to get loose. i had to purchase steel swivel shackles to prevent them from coming off.unrelated, somewhat. if you have larger dogs, mine are only 50 pounds but went through numerous traditional 'tie out cables.' i eventually found something a little more durable. i highly recommend getting Steel Security Cables or Emergency Towing Cable. Used this for camping and it installed pretty easily and came out just as easy. Love that it has a brush to clean up the mud off of it and a carrying case to keep it all together. Looking forward to using it on our next camping trip and seeing how it works in sand.

I put this in my front yard to be able to secure my dogs when I do work there. My backyard is fenced, but the front isn't, so this is a great solution to keep my sweet loves safe.I bought the orange, and it is sturdy and heavy duty enough to keep German Shepherds and Pitbulls from pulling it out of the ground. It keeps them secure. I can easily take it with me if I have a dog in the car and want to tie them up somewhere on vacation, camping, the park, etc.LOVE this product!

I've had other tie-outs for my dogs that all worked satisfactorily. However, I now have a lab-pit mix and he is one solid muscle. His prey drive is off the charts. When he sees a cat, squirrel, any critter in the yard, he goes into full hunt mode and takes off from a stand still. Those corkscrew type tie-outs can't hold him and he always ended up dragging it behind him on his hunt. If the fence gates were open, I'd lose him for sure.Then I found this. The way this is designed with the gradually larger flanges on the screw really bite into a larger portion of ground and adds a lot of resistance when the dog pulls on it. The very first time he ran, the tie-out only yanked towards the direction he pulled, but it held firm. However, since that soil had some sand mixed in, I moved the tie out to very firm soil. The next time he ran, the tie-out moved only slightly during the recoil from the force of the pull. When I checked it, it was still firm and secure in the ground. I feel very confident he won't be able to dislodge it now. Also now that he's tested it a few times, I noticed he doesn't bolt like usual, but runs until it tugs.I bought the black one and now I think I should've gotten the orange colored one so it would be more obvious in the ground and not a tripping hazard. But I could always hit it with some spray paint if that becomes an issue. So far no signs of wearing or rust. This is a solid piece of equipment. They included an attractive, zippered, canvas bag with carrying strap, and a bar for leverage to help screw the tie-out into the ground. Very thoughtful value-added pieces. I'm using a plastic coated metal lead with it that I had purchased separately. I'm very pleased that I went ahead and spent a few extra bucks for a system that keeps my dog safe and contained. Very highly recommend.

Really happy with this product.I have a 100lb Great Pyrenees who isn’t done growing yet, he’s broken multiple runs and a few tie outs. This is the first one to go deep enough that he’s not able to pull it out of the ground.

No hicimos la gran prueba de que jalaran mucho y nos falló tener a la mano dos correas largas y olvide traia su argolla para asegurarlas asi que hicimos un nudo improvisado por no fijarnos pero funcionó muy bien para dos Schnauzer Gigante macho de 40 kilos y hembra de 30 kg. Definitivo es de las cosas que requieren práctica y agarrarle la maña con uso continuo pero muy feliz y mas que traiga su escobilla para no traernos la playa en el carro y su estuche para almacenar y cargar

A great tool for creating a little “doggy-zipline”. We used the two devices when camping. They are quite difficult to screw in when the ground is tough or has stones in it, however even with only 2/3rd of one screwed in there was basically no movement when trying to push them back & forth.I did find them difficult to screw in with stones, not to get past the stones but because without much downward pressure, the “blades” of the device simple just chew up the soil and leave nothing for it to bind/grip into.I found that putting a lot of my body-weight onto it whilst trying to screw them in was the best method but quite difficult to manage. Overall they worked great once set up, but could be quite frustrating if they were removed and reinstalled frequently.

Esta muy bien acabado.Es facil de instalar en terreno suave y se mantiene firmemente, demore menos de 5 min. En instalarlo.Es un poco mas complicado en terrenos duros, pero nada que con algo de paciencia no se logre, tomo unos 15 minutos colocarlo como queria.facil de remover y limpiar.La bolsa para guardarlo es perfecta y esta muy bien Hecha

Was very excited for this. When I got the package though, there were spots where the paint had come off and it looked like it had been repaired very cheaply. The bag it came in already had holes in it too. Very disappointing when you have paid to dollar for this. I will try the stake and I hope it works well enough to keep.
