Roberts Radio "SportsDab6" Sports DAB/FM RDS Personal Digital Radio with Loudspeaker - Black

Great sports radio, very good sound and the speaker is fine for when listening in the garden etc. Very happy with it. Some reviews have said that the aerial is a bit flimsy, which I suppose is true as it is quite thin when fully extended, but I have found that's always the case with these small radios. I've caught the aerial on things and it hasn't bent, and I have even lent the radio against a wall resting on the aerial (which probably isn't recommended) and it didn't bend, so I don't think it is as flimsy as it looks - you just need to be a bit careful with it.

Great little radio. I ordered one of these and the flimsy aerial broke almost out the box - I ordered another and it arrived the next day. Had no trouble with the replacement.Before ordering I was dubious that such a small speaker could produce sound suitable for anything other than listening directly next to, but I’ve used this in the kitchen, the garage, and the garden - all of which sounded great.Awesome set of features, especially the sleep timer - and the ability to store 10 DAB stations and 10 FM stations. My only gripe if I wanted to find one, which I was initially disappointed about when unboxing, is it’s all-plastic construction. For the price I’d expected it to have a solid and weighty feel to it.Unfortunately this hasn’t worked well at my place of work, though I think that is the building and not the radio itself as I’ve had no issue with reception at home.All in all I’d recommend this radio.

The point of a DAB portable radio is to be able to walk around with it or at least move it regularly. I had a Roberts Sports DAB 2 for just over a year and it was almost perfect, no drop outs great reception. Unfortunately it stopped working after 13 months. It was replaced under warranty by this newer version, the DAB 6. Roberts have made some minor changes to this newer version BUT most importantly the reception has somehow been changed for the worse. It will tune OK but constant drop-outs especially when walking around where my previous version was 99% solid signal. Not sure what Roberts have done but they need to change it back. Have now got a Pure Move R3 which is faultless with zero drop-outs in a whole day of walking around with it.

The radio quality, ease of use, reception and look is first class. However, the antenna is flimsy and the top end broke within three weeks of purchase. The antenna design should definitely be improved​ in line with Robert's competitors.

Disappointing reception after the DAB 2 I had for about 3 years, too irritating to walk around with, which is what I need it for.

This is an excellent radio. When it arrived there was a charge in the battery I switched on it scanned over 60 DAB radio stations . The battery life is excellent I had it on speaker for four days a couple of hours each day before I needed to recharge it and it recharged in about three and a half hours . Considering how small speaker is the sound is very good for both music and speech overall I would recommend this radio

A great little radio - we have three. The sounds quality is brilliant for its size and a full charge will last for hours. I tend to use it it the mornings and evenings so a full charge will last for more than a week. The only reason this doesn't get five stars is that its aerial is delicate and it seems impossible to buy a replacement when it breaks. So take care when sliding it into pockets getting off the train at the end of the day.

Great radio and ideal for anyone out and about wanting great functionality and ease of use. Pre-set your favourite stations and your all set to go. Battery life very good . Need to be carefully with aerial as this does feel rather fragile.
